"It's because I'm the only one that was morta - " Sibnele snaps his mouth shut, and his face flushes.

I sigh and nodded, continuing to draw the panther, the same one I drew when I was with Latan.

"mortal?" she finishes for him "yeah, why does it feel like every day i lose a little bit of myself," she says looking at the small whisps of magic on her finger.

"How am I supposed to know? I'm only like this because I was alone for thousands of years," Sibnele mutters. "We're on a plain planet that has little mana. So, you can't be developing something from immortality."

Over the small hill Sammy and the others are on, a shrill, sweet melody is sounded. It's Chansei. They are coming up the slope, something supported on their back.

I looked up my eyes widened, and I froze the panther very clearly still in the air.

Raglan sits up and squints. Is that Chansei?

Chansei begins to pick up the pace. It's clearly a person on their back.

Astirya and Iskren get up as well, looking a little surprised.

"yeah but i fell like im just becoming more recluses away from the group, I just always want to runaway now from them from the thing I hunted down for years." she said huffing.

"Latan...?" I mumble out in shock.

Sibnele shrugs. "Well, that I kinda understand. Once I got freedom, after the first few decades, everything just devolved into predictable patterns."

Chansei reaches the group. Unfurling a wing, they allow Latan to gently lie on the ground. He's definitely unconscious.

Raglan is staring at Latan, speechless.

Astirya is surrounded by a dull silver glow.

Iskren is just unresponsive. Shell-shocked, maybe.
