"Sawubona, sir. I was bringing these knives to be sharpened from the kitchen," The echidna replied, ignoring Barlo's abrupt tone.

"Kaladin said hello be nice to him." Selkie translated.
Barlo nodded taking the knives.

Kaladin slipped inside and leaned on the door frame, watching Barlo work in silence. "....The chef never requested my assistance." He stated after a few minutes.

"Really? Coulda sworn he did, sorry," Selkie was working with a piece of seaweed the same kind that Kaladin had on his spear.

Kaladin huffed. "...May I ask what you've been working on?" he inquired.

"No, not until it's finished that way you aren't disappointed if it doesn't work." Selkie dipped the seaweed in water keeping it wet until he had it formed properly.

Kaladin lifted his gaze up to the otter's. "What do you have to hide?"

"Nothing just a problem that needs solving," Selkie finshed forming the seaweed and grabbed another piece that was of a different kind.

Kaladin looked away and tapped a claw idly on the wood. ".....I see."

"You'll see it when its finished but not a second before," Selkie spoke his voice stern.
Barlo seemed impressed.
