She gasps, quickly setting down the bowl of cereal and rushing outside, she looks at the treetops. She watches and listens for any sign of the owl, hoping it's a burrowing owl.

It's a barn owl.

She huffs in disappointment, now at the very top branch of a tree, farther away from her cabin then she wanted it to be. She crouched on the top branch, glaring at a barn owl in the tree over. "You tricked me..." She huffed, hopping down and catching a branch before she broke her legs on the ground from the fall. She silently drops down, starting her walk back.

Somewhere in the distance, a fox barks.

She sneers, already close to the fox. Just a glimpse then I'll head straight back! She rushes towards the sound, making sure not to make much noise.

For just a moment, a green-eyed fox stares at her. Then it dashes off.

She smiles, proud of herself that she at least got a slight glimpse of an animal. She then starts her walk back, expecting her juice box to be cold by now and her cereal to be disgustingly soggy.

They are.

She opens the door, looking right at her breakfast. She sighs, her wings sagging in sadness as she walks over to her cereal and pokes it with a spoon. "What a waste, I didn't even eat it!" She huffs, pouring it in the sink and turning on the quiet garbage disposal. (She tinkered with it to make it quiet)
