He finished neatly and,again,wrote that same ending fear in the rest of those notes. He then stood and walked over,with a faint limp he was trying to hide,and put the paper in the stack of the other notes. He eyed it momentarily,seeing a difference about the paper and assuming someone had touched it,but then just shook his head and walked back to the stone bed and sat. He then smiled faintly at Ash and Crysta,the little hatchling snuggled pleasantly into Ash's arms and sleeping happily. Her frills and underwings a joyful yellow with a sleepy soft soft gray on the edges like tiny rain clouds.

Ash continued to watch Jason in silence, before he sighed. "I'm sorry."

Jason seemed confused for only a moment before he closed his eyes and turned his face away,shaking his head. "Don't be.Don't ever be.That'll get you ripped open here." He said,wings unfolding and lowering to the bed at his sides. He put his face in his hands and put his elbows to his knees. "No one likes strange things.No one judges to much outloud,no one pokes to much fun at others.But it's the looks and attacks that will get to you.Don't let it." He spoke softly,freckles and underwings blue.

"I'm not afraid to die," he whispered. "I don't mind if I do. Especially all that I put you through. But I'm not about to give up, either. You deserve a good life. Whether that includes me or not. You don't deserve all the hate that you receive."

He growled softly,shaking his head again. "I do.You've seen how useless I can be and how much trouble I cause.It stands for what my breed has done before me,and that's why I'm trying to help Crysta so she won't end up like me and do what I've done." His voice was soft and tired,and he didn't even seem to want to be anywhere right now.He wasn't as stressed as before though,thanks to writing that note.But that was the only way he'd ever released these things.He'd never confided in anyone.Ever.And despite that he didn't know it,that's what he needed.Someone to confide in.

"You're not useless," Ash continued in the same tone as before, "and I'm sorry if you believe that. It's a terrible lie. And you don't know why other dragons killed your kin. I believe that your kind may be superior to the rest of them, and they didn't like that, so they tried to wipe out your race."

Jason stiffened as Ash spoke of superiority and he took in a deep breath and relaxed again. "History is faded and only is as strong is as it is told.Only present events prove it valid or invalid.Such as something I was prophisized." He sighed and then took a deep breath then spoke,dragon toned. "Upon the land your talons stride.Upon that sod death shall arise.These two worlds not meant for you,Child of death;Soul of two."

Ash shook his head. "Did you ever think she was in on it to? That the soothsayer didn't like you, either? And they're not always right. You need to stop believing everything said to you that is bad."

"She's one of those shadow things,they aren't in on it." He said simply,shaking his head. "And it's what I've been raised on,despite being shoved from one place to the next." He said softly,swaying faintly.

"And sometimes, what you've been raised on isn't always right."
