It's magic. That's why he's not dead and frozen. It is magic ice, like how a lot of other things in the world are magic alternatives to non-magic.

Maybe he should stop questioning unfamiliar magic that's heavily religiously important to these winter fey and be more concerned about the sounds outside the door.

ok, im speaking for myself, and not Skullio, when i say: i dont understand this place, this world, these creatures, this magic, or anything. i keep missing the small details, and i just dont get it.

Then you need to be fully reading the posts. I only leave things ambiguous or unanswered when it's for plot reasons or, in the case of the ice, doesn't need an explanation. Go re-read the recent stuff if you're really that lost, because I've already answered all of your questions. I'll reiterate them this time, but I'm really not in the mood to relay the entire plot.)
He most definitely can hear, because the sounds aren't coming from the room. They're coming from the hallway. They sound a bit like satyr walking, but... not. They sound heavier.

(Sorry, I'm just really not in a good mood for mass explanations right now. So please don't get pushy with stuff you e never needed an explanation for before.)
It's pretty strong. Not impossible to break, but very difficult, and it might as well be impossible when it's constricting his movement so much.
