She just leaned back on the lockers, playing with a black feather from her wings.

Dagger nodded and cleared his throat. "Right. Well I'm just gonna figure out what I'm gonna do for my project."

Asher saw and rolled his eyes.

Dagger turned around and started carving a horse head.

She saw him do it out of the corner of her eyes. She rolled her eyes back and walked off to the field in the back of school.

Asher rolled his eyes when she was gone. He went to the woodshop to see Dagger.

She shot into the air, trying to keep her wings flapping for longer than five minutes. She could only fly from a short amount of time. As a child, she had been born without enough flight feathers in her wings and had lost more. Tired, she fell back down. "Ow!"

Aser heard her scream and said, "I'll be back." He walked outside. "You okay? Need help?"

She spit dirt out and pulled herself up. She shook her head. "Sorry- no, I'm fine." Had she really been that loud? Hopefully not. She didn't want to admit that she couldn't fly for long. "Thank you for asking."
