You crouch by the fire, trying not to disturb anything, you take this time to closely survey your surroundings, you see an old Mantle-Clock on the Mantle of the Fireplace. You see a small table in front of the Couch, with some Roses in a Glass Vase and a Gold Candleabra. Despite there being a Mantle-Clock, there is also a Grandfather Clock in the room. You see a couple of animal heads on the wall, and a couple of animal skins on the floor.

You find the crossing to the Flat Hill, you traverse across the hill, and on the other side of the hill, you find a terrifying sight.
You see bodies, dead bodies, large Bones everywhere, along with a ton of skeletons, appearing to be Dwarvish, there is what you believe to be a very old Campfire with large rocks around it, inside the pit, there is naught but ash and a few large bones, you see lots of Swords and Axes strewn about, some stuck in trees, others among the bones.
You decide the large bones are those of Trolls.
It appears there was a rather large (pardon the pun) Battle here.
You see among the dwarven remains a couple of Diaries, which you decide to consult, to work out what happened, the Diaries were NOT in Dwarvish, but in a more inter-species Language.
The Diaries speak of the Mountain being the Dwarve's home, some text, describing how their home became their home, and how the Dwarves defend it every way they can, including with traps.
One Diary seems to be that of a Dwarf whom just joined the party, and contains a manual for these Dwarve's special runes.
You remember seeing some of these runes on the door at the Mountain, and this Manual explaining their meaning.
"Each Lock has a Rune on it, Each Rune corresponds to an Element, each Button has a Color, Each Color corresponds to an Element, put the Elements in Order, open the door."
The Door apparently reads "Each Element Beats the Last."

(I screwed up slightly in my Observation post, I said "One of Each Color" but then mentioned one twice, The colors are: Red, White, Black, Yellow, Blue, Brown, Green.
You re-enter the Dangerous Trap-Cave.
You've read further into the Diary which says The Elements are, in no particular order, Fire, Air, Death, Electricity, Water, Earth, Life.
(You have taken this Diary with you)
The Gate properly shuts behind you this time, now that you have a book.

The order is in the order that I said, but, as a little tip, are not to be pressed in that order.
