He eyed Steven as he passed before his eyes landed on Harry Potter, crowded by a group of first-year Gryffindors. He couldn't help but chuckle, the young boy was already popular.

As the students returned to their dorms, Steven discreetly snuck away, in the crowd on students, it wasn't very difficult.

He followed the throng of students until he reached his room, saying goodnight to those who greeted him.

Steven snuck back to the class hallways, looking for the door that leads to Snape's potion room.

Ackley stood in his doorway for a little longer, watching Snape head down to the dungeons toward his classroom.

"Snape? Is everything alright?"

The professor stood atop the stairs, pausing to answer Ackley. "Yes."

Ackley nodded, "Well, goodnight then."

Snape continued down the steps. Ackley shut his door, shaking his head.

Steven heard someone coming and used a spell to change into an animal, a small one, to be exact.

Snape stood in front of the door to his classroom, his hard stare roaming over every inch of the door. He slowly opened the door, flicking his wand, and flames helped light the classroom. He was quiet, his eyes roaming over the desks and walls.

Steven remained quiet, in the corner of the room as a mouse.

Snape whispered, "Homenum Revelio", his eyes immediately darting to the corner Steven sat in as a mouse. Snape lowered his eyes to the mouse's small form, a hard glare settling on his face.

The mouse darted away quickly under the professor's desk
