The thing smirks in wider "Oh poor thing, maybe I will l-" the thing sudden frowned and the shadows that held Amiera dissipated "How could you," the thing choked out the words before disappearing and leaving behind a very not dead Ace with a knife in his hand, which would have been in the things back if it had not disappeared.

Amiera runs over and hugs him, wrapping her arms tightly around him. "I'm so sorry for what I said!"

"Are you okay," Ace asked hugging her back tightly "that shadow beast almost got you... it'll be back, it still has a vow."

She's still shaking and crying from when she thought the monster had killed him.

"Don't worry, you will be okay, I'm here," He said gently picking her up and cradling her in his arms, he looked over his shoulder and saw his fake body melt into the shadows.

She buries her face in his neck. "I-I still don't know how I upset you earlier...bu-but i'm sorry....and why didn't you answer mindlink? you scared me to death!"

"Sorry, I was looking for information about Hildebrand when I stumbled across information about the shadow beast. I was about to run back and tell you when someone mind-linked with me and told me to wait. They told me not to answer your mind link and I listened, I'm sorry. I was so worried that I ignored it's words to stay where I was... good thing I did I think the shadow beast was trying to stop me," Ace explained rapidly giving her a hug "I know more about that thing now if you want to know."

She sniffles. "F-First we need to bury R-Rytex."

"Okay," He said showing no emotion when he gently placed her on the ground before walking over to where Rytex's body was and picked it up and headed out the door, then froze. Max's body was on the floor, his looked like he was looking at the roof like one would look at the clouds but it was all wrong. His body had deep scratches on it and was still bleeding. His left leg was ripped off and was on the floor a couple feet away. His organs where torn out of his body and lay beside him. And both of his eyes where missing, laying on the ground opposite to the organs.
"Don't come out," Ace said regaining his emotionless expression as he turned and blocked Amiera's view so she wouldn't see the dead body.

She can smell the death. "It killed Maxie..d-didn't it?...w-why does it keep taking those I grow close to, and grow to care about?"
