A'ine finished brushing her teeth and took off her shirt and vest leaving her under shirt on. She came out of the bathroom leaving her tooth brush there. "What're you reading now?" She asked smiling to Ember and she brushed her short hair a little.

Jora nodded a little. She yawned covering her mouth. She looked around and noticed the bluff they were at earlier. She knew it was the right one because, even in the dim light, she could tell that some of the grass was burnt. She opened her mouth to say something but clamped it shut. She had no idea what to say but the silence was killing her. She was just waiting for Orion to crack and yell in her face. She bit her lipp and rested her chin on her knees again.

"The same book I was reading when we met," Ember, said, looking up from her book. "I guess I should go get ready for bed too," she said, grabbing her tooth brush, hairbrush, and a baggy t-shirt before going into the bathroom. She took off her shirt and hoodie, and put on the t-shirt, which almost reached her knees.

Orion sighed. He wasn't good at talking. It wasn't that he didn't like it, he just couldn't put his thoughts into words. "Jora, look! It's Cygnus!" he said, pointing to the constellation toward their left. She probably already knew it was there, but he wanted to break the silence.

A'ine smiled. She took her last bag off her bed and put it under it. "Hey Ember if you want I could braid your hair!" She yelled towards the bathroom happily.

Jora jumped a little when Orion yelled. She let out a sigh of relief when it was just to point out some of the stars. She smiled a little at the thought of her mom. She had always made Jora feel a little better, even when she was ten and set the kitchen curtains on fire. She looked up at the stars a little. "I think we should get inside soon. They might look the doors on us."

Ember almost dropped the brush she was so startled. She had always imagined having friends who would braid her hair as they chatted at night. Not that she didn't have friends, but the friends she had had never done anything like that. A smile grew on her face. "Yeah!"

Orion nodded. "Yeah I guess," he said, rather disappointed, but he knew Jora was right. "Jora... what's wrong? Last time you got upset, you didn't act like this," he said, worried. Once again, he didn't word it the way he wanted to.

A'ine smiled. "Okay then. You coming out or do I have to go in after you?" She said smiling then couldn't help but laughing. She never had any friends for very long and was hoping Ember would stick around for a while.

Jora didn't want to answer the question. She didn't know what he was really talking about. She stood up and turned away from Orion. "Nothing." She said bluntly. She realized that Orion could keep her there until she answered if he wanted too. She stiffened at the thought but didn't do anything else.

Ember laughed, and opened the door. The t-shirt that stretched to her knees was the one she wore as pajamas. She put her clothes in her drawer before sitting cross-legged on her bed. "Uh- I sorta forgot a hairbrush," she said. "I'm kinda forgetful, if you couldn't tell," she said, smiling and blushing slightly.

Orion suddenly reached out and placed a hand on Jora's shoulder. "I know there's something wrong. I won't force you to tell, but you can trust me," he said, dropping his hand from her shoulder. He blushed slightly, glad it was too dark for Jora to see.

A'ine laughed. "Well, I have mine." She said crawling onto Ember's bed to brush her hair. "So, what do girl friends talk about when doing hair?" She asked wondering if Ember would know.

Jora grabbed her head in her hands. "I don't know." She slumped down sitting again.

"Honestly I have no idea," Ember said, laughing slightly. She leaned back slightly, feeling more at ease than she had all day. "I guess anything," she said.

Orion sat down next to Jora, and hugged her, feeling his cheeks grow warm again. "You don't have to," he said, letting Jora go and sat back, smiling at her.

A'ine laughed too. "We're just the prefect duo aren't we?" She was really enjoying Ember's company. "I've never had a friend before. Want to talk about that?" She smiled deviously and poked Ember's side. "Or was there a cute guy in class I should spy on for you?"

Jora shied away from Orion when he hugged her. She bit her lip and breathed a little heavily. "I don't have to what?" She asked getting a little confused when she started seeing other kids in the place of the ones who teased her.
