His partner a golden retriever, "Umm was that there before?" He looks at the paper throwing star imbedded in the desk.


Nox smiles even more brightly, "That's something I never thought you'd say."

Sarah, you poor thing. You deserved better than your guild. Zero thought before responding. "Oh? Well, then, I should say it more often."

The shepherd stepped forward and inspected it. "...No. What is that anyway? Oragami?"

"I'm not sure but the blur I saw landed in this desk so most likely something important from an informant who doesn't want to be known," The retriever steps back, "Whoever threw it has some skill in knife throwing most likely."


"Yeah and Zero call me Sarah. Nox is just a poor reminder of a rotten guild."

Zero glanced at Nox-- Sarah-- thoughtfully. Was he that readable or was that a coincidence? It didn't matter at the moment.
"Alright, Sarah."

The shepherd cautiously removed the paper shuriken from the wood. "Sheesh, talk about a paper cut."

Sarah's ears rotate, "Come on we need to go now."


"Need me to get the first aid kit," The retriever asks, "Also do you know who was suppose to be on duty because they might have witnessed it."

"Uh, Dillon, but there was a trade off while we were out." The shepeherd responded. "Mighta missed it. And no," He added, "I don't need a band aid."

Zero nodded and picked up his pace.

Sarah runs alongside Zero looking happy and worried.


"Okay then check the security camras or are they on the frits again?"

"What do you think? Of course the tech giy bailed again." The shepherd scoffed.

Joe glanced over at Neva. "...M' sorry."

"It's not your fault," Neva tries to reassure him.


"Ugg next time I go and find the old IT worker who used to live here. She was a pro," The officer remembers, "and would never bail on us. Oh well. If you think it's safe open the throwing star."

"It's probably fine. No weird scents coming from it. Just mind the edges." The shepherd replied.
