In his mind,h e thought I can't be the only one wanting to ask him this. He knew a particular other Saqlirian would be asking this, but referring not to a physical heart. This was however, beside the point. Zeth and Scias' stupid romantics could wait.

"No. Our central cores are similar enough, but we don't have like blood or anything like that either. They just produce enough electricity to power the other cores in our bodies and our plasma."
He rubbed the back of his head, thinking about it.
"I had a human once try to compare us to Earth amoeba once, but I don't think that's right.."

(While I don't know when Zeth will fess up, I can promise it wont be while Scias is two. lol)

"I see, I suppose that makes sense."
Once again, he found himself mentally noting all he could about another species, but he didn't feel as though he was being fair. He decided info for info was only polite.
"I am betting that Zeth has been to embarrassed to show you what our horns can do. Before you ask, no I don't mean the echo-locative function."

"What do you mean? I mean.. I knew about you guys able to use them as antennae, but what are they actually for?"

"Truth be told, our horns were originally for echolocation, but interbreeding with sub species and other alien species had caused that to become less common. Zeth and I are pure bloods, so we can use our horns for the intended purposes. Despite half-breeds and such, all horned Saqlirians share one capability, though I think you would rather see it from Zeth than from me. Just remember, very few non-Saqlirians have seen this in action. " With that, he called over Zeth who begrudgingly came as told. Traqile told her to do it, but she clearly looked disgusted.


Zeth

"But aren't we not supposed to talk about that? Do I have to? It feels weird..."
She was coming up with any possible excuse to avoid the situation, but alas, with a simple stern look, Traqile got the best of her. She picked up a pillow and covered her face to hide the rising blush. Her horns made a light buzz sound as they vibrated.

Tracy

"It's a traditional sign of joy and gratitude." He stated simply, clearly proud of the capabilities of his species, as little as it may seem.
"Notice she had to cover her face. That would be because of the hypersensitivity within out horns. The vibrations easily fluster us. The vibration itsef is not as much the gesture as the vulnerability that follows."


Zeth

"Couldn't you do it? I was comfortable...you didn't have to drag me here just for that ya know..."
Her voice was muffled by the pillow. She very clearly wished to be anywhere else but there.

(I don't even try to write him to be, this is just how he turns out and I've had to accept it for what he is. He's like the manifestation of an anime teen character and I want to throttle him for it)

Scias
"Kinda like us and our tails. My species used to use them long ago for mating signals. Kinda like humans and holding hands, but for us, we'd wrap tails together. And if you really liked someone, you'd sync current timing with them through it."

Scias shrugged. "Bit more to it than that, but I'd really rather not talk about it. It's weird and I'm not trying to get mindflayed by our Glorious Leaders for telling off-worlders about it."

"Oh, I had no idea you could control your currents..how fascinating."
He seemed to slowly get dazed into his thoughts about several things. The anatomy of the darrazi seemed quiet confusing.

Zeth

She had finally gotten enough composer to uncover her face. How absolutely embarrassing.
"New subject, have you two been resting at all? It would be best to considering what we have planned tomorrow."

(you'd think it wouldn't be considering it just looks like this and is incredibly simple compared to a human.
But turns out making an amorphous shifter species controlled by a digital hivemind network of elders seem realistically plausible is much harder than it seems, let alone trying to explain any of it, lol.
I spent upwards of a year trying to explain it to my Discord before before just making that diagram)

"Does this not count?" He gestured at the outlet.
"I mean, I can't really get to sleep anyways. I don't know about Traqil."

"Ya, you know what, it counts... But Tracy, you need sleep."

He would have fought back but zeth was right, he needed sleep.
"Ya, You're right. I'll turn in. Catch you all in the morning"


Zeth

"god...so glad he's gone..." She grumbled, sliding of the side of the couch and rolling onto the floor.

(Well, everyone in that group decided to make a Daarizi character and we had a plot involving the Council being destroyed and the implications of that because they basically were digitally manipulating everyone. Was fun, now they are ruled by a literal computer god that forces them to figure out everything on their own and just likes to remind them that abuse of technology has caused all their issues

What's not fun is explaining high frequency communication networks they use between each other or the fact they don't have bones or muscles and that a brawler is a bad idea.

It's just easiest for me to think of the Daarizi like living, liquid metal, robot drones with computer brain-hearts. They're in that weird area of being alive but not meeting the human biological definition of life, but they act like any other electronic device or bacteria would biologically)

"..Almost seemed like he was trying to set you up or something.." Scias had to stifle a laugh. He had a hunch on what he was trying to do, but he decided it was best to leave it at that. It wouldn't work.
He leaned back against the wall, thinking.
He gave a sigh and looked over, noting Hexic was asleep, thankfully, so he could talk about the one thing still stuck on his mind.

"..Zeth.. Sorry about Hexic earlier.
Think I've just been getting jealous of him with you.
