The place looks much cleaner than the version he saw when he was awake. The tile sidewalks are clean, the tiles bright white and blue as opposed to the dim dove-grey he saw before.

All the houses are built differently. They're coated in a thin layer of ice, and are quite rounded. They're also made from simple white brick, as opposed to the fancy, mostly square and thin wood houses he saw awake.
