Kavaratti notes the thought, eyes lowering as he wonders what exactly to bring before he looks back at Ember's gaze. "Would you like to take a walk around while you're here? The beach is a peaceful place, and I can show you a Terrible Terror roost if you'd like to watch some dragons. They're too small to cause harm, so the village has let them stay all these years."

She looked over and smiled, nodding. *that sounds great.*

Kavaratti's lips curl at their edges, a faint smile as he strides towards the edge of the hills. Steps quick, he walks alongside the slight overhang, where glistening waves crash against the golden shores below.
After a few minutes of walking, he stops, pointing Ember towards the sight of a few color figures crowded on top of the rocky crags by the beach. A small of flock of ten Terrible Terrors in a multitude of colors sunning themselves on the stones.
"Let's go down and take a closer look?" he asks, placing his hands and feet carefully on the cliffside as he prepares to climb down.

Ember smiled and followed, looking around in curiosity and awe.
When nearing the Terrible Terrors, she stare in amazement. When asked if she wanted a closer look, she smiled and nodded and began climbing down like a pro.

Kavaratti joins Ember, finding solace in the familiar movements of hand over hand, boot over boot.
Climbing down these cliffs had always been a constant of his childhood--a getaway to the sound of the ocean's heartbeat, waves sending walls of white spray upward as it collided with the shore. It's quietly familiar in a way few things are these days; friends having settled down and the warm sprawl of the village undergoing renovations in his years of absence.
Sometimes, Kavaratti wishes he was around to see it. Still, he can't change the past, or the fact that he no longer belongs to a world as quaint as this, so he keeps climbing downward--to the dragons he's devoted his life to.
Soon after Ember, he arrives at the bottom of the cliff side with the Terrible Terrors slumbering a few feet forward.
"We used to throw rocks at them, when I was growing up," he says, soft, face turned away to watch the dragons. "I doubt that's what you want to do though."

Ember scaled down the cliff face like a lizard - she knew exactly where to step and how to position herself to get down the fastest. She landed on the ground, smiling and looking around and staring at the dragons. She kept her distance and stared, slowly nodding in agreement with Kavaratti.
Dragons are an amazing species, no matter what others say. The war only happens because we invaded their homes and theyre fighting for their place back on the food chain. This needs to end before more lives can be lost.

(Going to assume that the last line is dialogue, but I'll edit my post if that's wrong haha.)
Ember's words settle in Kavaratti's chest in a strange realization, leaving him to glance back at the Terrible Terrors. It's the meeting of two people with entirely different histories, one raised with knowledge of the past and the other trained to kill monsters among dragons. It's only now that he sees how truly it differs.
"Huh," he says, soft and curious. "You think they came here before us?"

(No, its right lol)
She nodded, looking back silently at him. *they were here before us. And if we arent respectful of that or careful, they will be here after.*
And with those profound words, she got up, still crouched, and began slowly moving towards the Terrors, silentz

(Okay, that's good haha. Also, wow that was a fast reply. I'll get this one out since it's the weekend, and then we'll have to see where my posting schedule goes from there. c;)
Seeing Ember begin to move, Kavaratti swallows back the musings and counterpoints his tongue, sinking alongside her to creep towards the still forms of the dragons on the rocks. One opens its mouth in a quiet snore, flecks of fire leaping outward as it breathes.
Keeping his attention focused on the flock and Ember in his periphery, Kavaratti wonders what she's going to do, getting as close as this. Trying to prove her point about dragons' sentience? Thinking of that, he considers the pair of small, hand-carved jugs at his side, filled with fish stew courtesy of his mother and father and meant to be reheated for their lunch.
Gifting Spillage with treats had always left the Scauldron enthused even at the beginning of their bond, during his recovery from their first encounter. Of course, feeding aggressive animals typically has the opposite of effect, and Terrors are hardly the brightest. Still, given the prevalence of eel, they won't be bothering the village, and he can always protect Alexis's workshop with a similar solution if they end up working up the courage.
With his evaluation finished, Kavaratti allows himself to fall a few steps behind Ember, a careful protection to prevent himself from startling the dragons. "Would you like something to feed them with?" he asks, whisper-soft, voice almost lost in the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks below.
