He twitched his whiskers a bit, turning back to look at Hexic.

"And the way I look at it, you can either choose to give a **** about people's standards or just try to meet your own.
..Wish I could do that myself. Just manage to screw everything up with everyone and myself anyways."

"I'm 23. But if I were human, I would be about 8 right now. How old are you? And, I only care about standards because my parents got it in my mind that I have to meet them no matter what."

"Like 157 star cycles or something, I don't know, it's hard to keep track on Earth.
I guess I'm like.. not much older than a teenager, maybe 19 or something in human years if you start doing the math out.
My species kinda lives for hundreds of years and we don't really go through a childhood or anything, so I don't really know."
He shrugged.

"Must be nice having parents, honestly. Always wondered what that's like."

"They were always fighting. More than everyone else. I guess some relationships are just like that though. But... yeah. I guess I never really thought about it too much until now, because fighting was so normal in our world. We start doing it as soon as we were born. Most of us, anyways."

He only had a vague idea of the concept of birth and it made him more than sick to the stomach to think about.

"Most we get really is just an intro from the Council when they decide to generate us. Get assigned a serial from them, a rank, and pretty much just get to pick your own name. It's not really anything like that. Outside of getting training, missions, knowledge or information sent to us from them, we're pretty much on our own from there.
I mean, I heard stories about some of our species having families and everything before the Council was a thing, but no one does it anymore. Guess it's kind of lonely."

"Wow. That does sound lonely. But it's probably nowhere as weird as 'coming into the world' and then just being able to only feel things. No hearing or seeing. That, was absolutely the weirdest thing I have ever witnessed."
