"What happened," Neva asks.

Joe sighed and looked back up at her, ears drooping and shoulders sagging a bit. "Me and Kini here owe you a huge appolgy. I'm real sorry we both got you fired from the hospital 'cause of our snooping around. If you were still working here, you wouldn't have had to leave for Studiopolis or been on that train and gotten hurt like this. I hope you can forgive us."

Neva looks at Joe and smiles, "It's okay you two are fine. I don't blame you two for what happened."
Kini smiles warmly.

Joe exhaled, then returned the smile. "Thank you so much. But hey, if you you don't mind me asking..." He added, tilting an ear to the side. "Why didn't you say anything?"

"The head doctor and I already had problems so you didn't cause it for the most part. I lost my temper and more or less destroyed his car," Neva confesses, "he really made me angry with what he did banning you two from here."
"Oh."

"Oh... Uh, well, that's news to us, but that's not what I was getting at. Why didn't you tell us you were leaving?" Joe asked.

"I tried telling you but Kini had a melt down or came close to it,'' Neva explains.
Kini's fur brisles, "I wasn't but you wanted me stop guarding the Press."
"No I wanted you to take it easy.''

Joe pinned his ears down. "Sorry I asked."

"Don't be," Neva chuckles, "I had it coming."

Joe merely smiled back. There was nothing that needed to be said.
