Sibnele glances at you with tired eyes. He gestures to the jar. "Do you know what that is, liz?"

I shake my head lightly and stay where I was and to not touch anything.

"That," Sibnele hiccups. "Is the only remains of my soul. Heh, that's funny to think about." He takes another drink. "Can't even touch the thing. Dunno what upper power decided to cage it up here, but I bet they're fun at parties."

I look at head to the side and blink a few times, then look at Sibnele sadly.

Sibnele raises an eyebrow. "What's that look for?" His hand holding the bottle twitches a little.

I sigh and squeak and sit down wrapping my small tail around my legs.

Sibnele hiccups. "Ugh, I really gotta stop drinking," he says. "Gives me a helluva headache." Standing up, he glances down at you. "Uh, little buddy, I'm going to get some water. I'll be. . .at my desk."

Without waiting for a reply, he stumbles out.

I follow and climb up the fire mantle again and curl my tail back around my feet again.

Sibnele sits at his desk, holding a water cup of questionable origins. He goes back to shifting through the stack of paper, sighing. "I really hate my lack of knowledge sometimes," he mutters.

I crawl down the mantel and onto his desk to see what he was looking at.
