Kuro laughed when she laughed. " I know I know...it's a c*** joke but it got you laughing... " He said, grinning at her like a idiot.

Mel shook her head and stepped away from him. She took a deep breath and put a fake smile on her face so he won't know that she was forcing her feelings to go away again. "It wasn't the joke, it was how you found it funny. Thaats what made me laugh!" She said with fake enthusiasm. She couldn't allow herself to feel in front of him. She liked him to much and knew her emotions would get in then way.

Kuro pretended to look hurt when she moved away. " Right... " He said, putting on a fake sad tone. " So do I smell bad? You look like you couldn't wait to step away... " he frowned. " Mind you...perfume wouldn't do you any harm... " he said cheekly, grinning after woulds.
He had no clue she was doing all that fake stuff...

Mel was kinda hurt about his comment but she wasn't going to say anything. "I just went swimming!!!" She said and pointed to the lake that she came from. She knew the lake wasn't the cleanest but it wasnt that bad. She put a fake smile on her face and turned around for a second, pretending to watch something so she could blink tears from her eyes. He had said she smelled bad.

It was a new day and the group was ready to head off - They had decided to do a bit of travelling the day before. Bidding farewell to the townspeople, they got on their horses and were off, their pets either following close by or on their person. This time, they would be going to the North, and were glad that their town was situated on the borders between South and North, as it made it easier to travel safely - as safe as could be at least- to either side. It wasn't because they had a job or a job offer though, but more on impulse. As Kumori had said, they had enough money left to last another month, and with what the villagers had given them before they left, they could be on the road for a total of 2 and a half months. Each were wondering what would they encounter on the way there, and what would happen, since their past journeys that were like this were never ordinary.
"Move out!"

Kuro frowned slightly when she turned her head. She may of smiled but he could tell she wasn't in the greatest of moods from his comment... " Well...nevermind... " he said. " Let's just start this mission " he said, smiling at the back of her head. He started walking and hoped Mel picked up on him going to his house to get some stuff...

Taking a deep breath she nodded and began following Kuro. She decided she would stay a foot or two back and think. 'What if I do show emotion, will it bring my performance down? Will I lose my job? Being sneaky is something that I have been trained when I was small, I can't allow emotion to get in the way!'She thought and anger flooded her system. Taking another deep breath she allowed everything she was feeling to slip away till she felt like a robot again.

Kuro looked behind his shoulder and saw Mel following. He looked away back infront of him and sighed. He wished Mel would just loosen up! She takes her job to seriously...sometimes Kuro found it tempting to slap her and say 'wake up'...but that would just be stupid to hit a girl...

Mel couldn't help but wonder if she loosened up, would it put his life in danger. "Kuro? If I show emotion, can you promise to not let it get in the way of our work. If were stuck in a situation were I need to leave you behind and my emotions were getting in the way, can you promise to make me leave?" She asked knowing it was a lot to ask for. He wasn't her keeper and he didn't have to.

Kuro looked behind him and nodded. " Yeah, sure...you should really show emotion when we are not working Mel...makes you kinda dull while we are together... " he said, smiling at her. Was she really gonna loosen up or is she still gonna be a emotionless moving body?
