"Y-you too...!" Kaladin chimed, grateful for the compliment albeit somewhat flustered.

Melany smiles when they call out the finalists, "We're both in the finals. May the best archer win."
(So who should win the archery contest?)

(Okay thank you)
Melany takes the prize from Blue, "Thank you."
Blue smiles, "Of course it's fair you won."
Douglas walks over to Kaladin, "Fine work out there. Had I known you were that good of an archer I would have made you a bow sooner. You can teach Bella how to shoot when she'd old enough."
"Good. First thing we need to do is find you a bow that fits you," Douglas walks over to Thomas, "Thomas, were you serious when you said you'd repay my services by making me a bow?"
"Yes I was Doctor ," Thomas responds.
"Would you be willing to make one for my apprentice?"
Thomas smiles, "I'd be glad to make a bow for as worthy an archer as Kaladin."
"Yes it was. I thought Kaladin would win for sure until Melany split that arrow," Selkie smiles, "I should go congratulate him."
"We all should," Starlight responds.

"You know, I never understood why the one who splits and arrow wins." Collin rambled. "I mean, this is a game of accuracy, right? Splitting an arrow just means you hit the exact same spot as the person before you. Is it impressive and dramatic to watch? Absolutely. Does it make you more accurate than the person before you? No, albeit you perhaps have a stronger drawback."
He paused, then sighed. "This, friends, is why I am not an archer."

(Take it from someone who has Robin Hooded, it is not as simple as it seems. More often than not if the shot is even a fraction of a centimeter off the arrow will glance off the arrow and land elsewhere. If that happens both arrows can be damaged. If an archer does Robin Hood that takes both luck and skill.)
Starlight shakes her head, "Have you ever tried to split an arrow with another arrow?"
Melany walks over to them, "It's not as easy as it looks. Had I been off by even the slightest bit the arrow would have been deflected off and I would have lost."
