You don't find any sylesti, but you see traps laid out all over the place, and some of them harmful. One of them has a sylesti trapped in it, although it is too dark to see what it look like. What do you do?

I disable the traps before going to help the sylesti.

You disable the traps and reach over to help the sylesti. However, the traps threatens to snap your hand off if you get near. You see a long, sturdy, stick nearby. What do you do?
