"Oh, erm... a-alright?" Kaladin gave Kai a pat on the head before checking the door.

Luner was outside the door, "Hello Kaladin, is Douglas in? I'd like to talk to him about something."
Douglas growls quietly, "Your turn Kaladin."

"O-oh!" Kaladin gave a quick bow, slightly flustered. "Erm, I-I can help you instead-- with all due respect, of course!!"

Luner smiles, "Alright then Kaladin I just came by to ask if Douglas had heard anything about what's going on, on the coast. Though I suppose since you just came in you'd be better to ask. Did you notice any strange activity when the Crest was coming here?"

"Strange activity...?" Kaladin softly repeated. "Like what?"

"Well strange ships like pirate ships or raiders," Luner answers, "They tend to come by every ten years or so and it's been nearly ten years. The problem is the soldiers don't know what to look for and the ship captains are tight lipped about matters like this. I know I shouldn't be asking but is there a chance that Skipper and some of the other captains could be involved in smuggling banned good?"
Douglas growls, "Come in already Luner! If you're going to accuse someone don't say it out in the open. Especially when a family member of the accused is there. No Skipper was never involved in that and yes I know who you're referring too but he was killed on Angel's Island."
"Doesn't mean he didn't train someone," Luner reasons as he tries to keep a neutral tone.

"....Which goods are illegal here...? I doubt Selkie would carry anything like that, but..." Kaladin asked. "It'd be good to know."

"There's currently an embargo on foreign grains because of issues in the production. Several barrels of grain have turned up tainted with a poison. That being said that is the most concerning being that the kingdom's crops have recently been ravaged by pests. But there are others including a new kind of plant seed which has been proven to be lethal, I think that plant maybe connected to the grain poisonings, and frogs. As I'm sure you are aware some types of frogs are very poisonous, and Blue is taking the throne soon," Luner answers.

"...No. I don't think I've seen anything like that, but I'll be sure to inform Selkie of it just to be sure." Kaladin agreed.

"Thank you Kaladin," Luner responds, "Now for the other matter at hand, Douglas, I know you prefer living in the village, but wouldn't your work be steadier as the doctor to the royal family?"
Douglas narrows his eyes at Luner, "How many times must I say no? I'm retired if you haven't forgotten and it's not by choice either. If you don't remember I can't see very well and that could cost your life. So no."
