Kaladin shivered slightly, glancing around at the people gathered on the beach. "I-I think that's everyone..."

Selkie frowns noticing their looks ranging from angry to sorrowful, "Locke it's you're turn now. The Crest can't sail the mast broke in the storm a week ag."


An old dog watches Kaladin intently as if waiting for something.

Locke pinned his ears back. "Ye ain't coming?" He barked.

Kal sighed, scratching behind Kai's ears.

"Locke I'm going to try something then join you," Selkie explains, "take my crew with you."

Kai looks over at the old seadog as he walks over.
"Why aren't you helping," His voice sounds familiar.

Kaladin flinched, glancing over his shoulder and taking a pace back. He clearly recognized the sea dog, but his expression was one of somebody who'd just seen a ghost. "Wh-what--??"

Locke huffed. "If yer plan is to try an' become a myrter ag'in, I will drag ye back to the Crest an' tie you there."

"Locke I'm going to follow on Seaweed to make sure the Lance isn't sunk," Selkie tries to explain, "Plus the Crest isn't going to be able to sail. The mast fell."

"Surely you didn't think even though I'm dead that I wouldn't try to stop this disaster? Apatos is my home too," He explains, "Tell Captain Waverider he needs the Pearl, the siren, and the balance, you."

"Ah ain't daft enough to bring me crew anywhere near ah mess like this one..." Locke mumbled. "Took Drayke."

Kaladin lowered his quills. "...On the contray, I did think you were that dead--" He glanced back at the shore. "Sirens, pearls... O-okay. I can tell him that..."

The old sailor growls, "You'll eventually get your due young one. It's part of your curse. Hurry now Kaladin."

Selkie nods once, "Please hurry then."

(Echidnas are just really superstitious BECAUSE many have seen ghosts before. So, yeah, add that to the list of things that startle the poor boy, XD)

Locke sighed, then whistled for Drayke to come on over.

Kaladin backed up a few more paces, then took off running.
