Micah resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "There's a cyclops at the border. It chased Janet."

"Hm. I can take that out easily." Riley says with a grin, shooting a glance at Ray, still not trusting him.

Micah glanced at him, resisting the urge to say that he didn't need their help. "Whatever," he muttered, running faster.

Ray easily changed pace and was somewhat dismayed when he saw Riley do the same. Both wanted to prove they were better. And Riley didn't trust Ray. Not that Ray didn't feel the same with Riley.

Micah got to the border and stopped, unsheathing his sword and pausing to catch his breath.

Riley has his sword out and ready in no time flat.
Ray thinks of a few spells before dismissing that and getting out his awesome weapon, which could switch from being a dagger to a spear.

Micah took a deep, nervous breath, fully aware that he could easily get hurt in this fight. Then he took a step over the border, starting into the forest.

Ray was going to try and make sure Micah would not get hurt in the battle. It wouldn't be allowed.
Riley told Ray, "If you try anything fishy, I'll gut you in less time it takes light to travel." Ray makes an injured gesture but doesn't take what Riley says seriously as the the trio step over the border.

"No. You won't," Micah snapped, turning to glare at Riley. He wasn't sure what it was about Riley, he just couldn't stand him. "You won't lay a finger on him, because out of the three of us, he's the least likely to hurt the others." He then turned and continued walking.

"Right and turtles can fly." Riley says sarcastically, glaring right back at Micah. "I won't be laying a finger on him. It would be a sword through his gut or a bullet through his head." Ray starts to feel a bit nervous now, so he walks closer to Micah to be protected. He really didn't want to be killed by this person who seemed so eager to end him.
