"Whatever!" She spun, leaping through the door into the gym where all the kids were preparing things for the dance. Most of them seemed fine with her strange antics.
A boy came up to them- he was taller than most of the people in the room, and wore a football jacket. He rolled his eyes at Bambi as she came in. "Calm down."
"I am perfectly calm!" She shot back. He frowned, then turned to Nick.
"Who's this?"
Bambi grinned. "A friend. He moved this summer and he's new to school from this year. Nick, this is Ethan. Senior Student Council President."

Ethan shook it. "Sorry about Bambi. She's... eccentric. But that's what people like about her for some reason. "I asked her to homecoming last year... and all she did was laugh. For ten minutes straight. And then when she was fine again, she laughed while walking back home. I never got a reply." He rolled his eyes.
