Miles blushed more. He must have said that out loud, instead in his mind. "Sorry..." He said suddenly feeling nervous and letting go of her hand. "I think I'm going to head off to bed." He said standing. "I did want to ask though if you knew of any one in town that is looking to hire, you know so I can get a job." He started to turn even even reder in the face as he spoke.

Luna let her hands drop to her sides as she stood up " Oh uh yeah that." She said still blushing."well if you like animals you could work at the animal shelter with me we've been needing an extra hand... Although if you don't want to that's fine." She shuffled her feet aquardly " you don't need to apologize though." She looked at him suddenly becoming brave " I meant what I said earlier." She blushed a little again surprised at what she had said

Miles looked at her his mouth hanging open a bit in shock. "Really?" He asked not sure on the whole thing. "I would love to work with you, in the shelter that is not in any other way." He said before relizing what that meant. "I mean I don't mean it like that, I meant like you know..." He stopped trying to save himself before he said anything else stupid. Nothing came to mind, he had just dug a hole and buried himself alive. There was only one thing he could think to do. He took a step forward closing the gap between them. He was shaking as he looked into Luna's eyes, though he said nothing as he slowly kissed her. It was a short kiss but it said what it needed to, to make up for the stupid he had said before. "Thank you really." He whispered still standing close to her.

Luna was surprised but she didn't care she knew what she had to do."your welcome." She whispered then before she could think herself out of it. She kissed him back.

This kiss was longer, sweeter. Miles was shoked she had done that yet at the same time he liked her style. He held her close for a moment before pushing away. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to move so quickly...."

Luna blushed a little not knowing what to do. " it's ok really, I'm... I'm glad that you did that." She said then blushed even more. She turned her head smiling a little bit still trying to hide her blushing. I can't beleive this is happening! she thought no ones ever liked me like this before, is it weird that I don't want this moment to end?

"I'm off to bed then. What time do we leave for work in the morning?" Miles asks

"We leave at ten." she said still blushing but no longer hiding her face "it's nice since we get to sleep in." She hugged Miles then turned and walked back to the table and began cleaning up.

Miles watched before leaving the room. He closed the spare rooms door behind him and flopped down on the bed deep in thought. Maybe his luck was beginning to change after all these years, or maybe it was just a spur of the moment thing. He slowly went to sleep, and for the first time actually got some sleep.

Luna rinsed off the dishes and packed up all the left over pizza, she finished putting it in the the fridge and went into her room closing the door softly. She changed into her night clothes and sat on her bed. She held up her mouth to her lips still not believing what had happened. Did he really kiss me... and did i kiss him back she took her hand away and smiled He did kiss me I, I guess i really do like him. she got out of bed and went into the bathroom to brush her teeth. Luna went back into her bedroom and , closing the door, got under her blankets and fell asleep.
