A particularly large monarch butterfly flutters towards you. It hovers for a bit before being envoloped in a pale orange light. The light grows and shifts until it outline a human figure. It fades away revealing a young woman draped in vibrant oranges and blacks holding a golden lantern.
Hello, I am Queen Gloria, it's wonderful to meet you. I actually just finished up the migration, as you can see by my friend here She gestures to the dispersing butterflies behind her, and waves away the lantern Won't be needing this anymore!
Terribly sorry you had to survive my attempt at introducing her X.X
Anyway, if you didn't catch it, she is inspired by a monarch butterfly, and since I can't do anything without getting a whole darn story from it, here is hers (it's short, I swear):
Gloria is the Monarch (get it :P) of all butterflies, she makes sure the populations are under control, but still of a reasonable size. One of her most important, and favorite jobs, is leading the migration of monarch butterflies. She uses the lantern in question to guide them until they are safely at their destination.
The reason I choose to use a monarch butterfly specifically, is because somewhere in my fourth year of school, I was playing with my neighbor, trying to catch butterflies, we mostly caught white ones, and we recorded all of them, but for the life of us, we couldn't catch a monarch butterfly, which disappointed us greatly. When we sat down to rest, eat watermelon and drink lemonade, I spilled some on my skirt and not caring, we kept talking. Suddenly my friend gasped and pointed at my skirt. Looking down, thinking it was a bee or spider, I saw a huge monarch butterfly just chilling there, on the lemonade spill. I swear it even looked up at me. We sat there silent and still for 2 minutes until it left. If you were wondering, we did count that as catching it :)

@fife (forgot my ping orz)
Inspired by the flash flooding we've been having constantly that will, inevitably, result in unplanned fishie hangouts

My inspiration came from the little nest of baby bunnies outside my window. c: During the times it has rained here, I've seen the occasional rabbit (and squirrel) scurry around. ^-^ I also used the essence of wind (with a hint of blue) since it's actually gotten pretty cold again.. almost like it's winter again. >>

Apologies for another ping, but I just noticed something with the game. Its my fault for not explaining the game better (I've always been bad at showing my work ^ ^'). In the original Avatar Game Corner post I had written "Whatever Spring means to you".
This is pretty misleading because the game is actually to have one or both elements i.e Spring or Rain (though I am aware this is limiting) in your post. The point of the game is to challenge designers to come up with an avatar design within these boundaries. Though it will cause for a variety of similar entries, unlike our previous "item match" where you had boundaries with colour or theme. Dont worry if this contest limits your artistic abilities. There will be more games in the future with less restrictions!
Players will be allowed to resubmit a design for this contest if they feel they have missed the mark. If I am worried that you have missed the challenge, I will inbox you! So If I dont, no worries about your design! Also, though I have never addressed this, you always have until the deadline to change your design if you change your mind. However, once I have posted your design, you must PM me to change your entry, or else we will use the original that I had saved :)
Also though I said one or two sentences, you are not necessarily confined to this. But please keep your inspiration short! A short blurb is all you need to enter.
Again sorry for the extra ping. I should have explained better. Ill make sure to have clearer instructions next time and I've updated the Game Corner's Instructions as well. ^ ^

My inspiration was getting caught in the rain. This happens to me frequently so I figured I'd use an avatar to show my expression when it happens haha ^ ^

Why are you interested in joining the club?:
While I am not an avid avi collector, I do like making unique avi's to act as the "spokesperson" for the occasional contest that I run. This place seems like a great location to see everyone's creativity and possibly get ideas for my new "invention" even if there are no plans to ever turn it into reality.
