awesome! i think i'll go with one of my own to not mess up your lore, i just wanted to know before hand so i didn't confuse anyone ^^;
tell me if i need to correct anything or if you would like me to change anything.

Speacie : ( For new speacie of alien, give also a general descripition of them as a speacie) Qadian. the Qadians are a humanoid species of reptiles, the top half of their body looking the most humanoid and their feet being the least humanoid. their top halves could almost pass for humans if it weren't for the unnatural skin colors, the horns on their heads and the large scaled wings protruding from their backs.
Appearance (picture or description): Astra has light blue skin and long black hair, with two extremely dark blue horns coming out of her head that measure around nine inches. her eyes are a golden yellow color and the undersides of her wings are a few shades lighter than the top.
Position on the ship : in charge of protecting the biologist when collecting samples, and occaisionally helping them collect samples (there is a word for this in the Qadian language, however it does not directly translate)
Personality: she is warm and kind to her friends, though she can be a bit much to those who aren't used to her curious personality.
Strengths:
- she can fly
- very good at making friends
- good at catching small animals
Weaknesses:
- her wings are fragile
- a bit clumsey on her feet
- very bad at seeing in the dark
Deepest fear(s): (may be keept secret for now, in this case use white text or pm me to get it approved)
all Qadians harbor a natural fear of fire and earth quakes, as the planet of Qadia is composed mostly of volcanic isles and has many, many active volcanoes that are prone to sudden eruptions with little to no warning.
Backstory:
Astra was born in Talon, one of the large isles on Qadia, her mother before her held the same job on a different ship before returning to her home to have Astra and her siblings - of which she has several. like her mother, she had always wanted this job and lept at the oppurtunity to work on this ship.
Other : she is also fascinated by humans, if not mildly confused by them

Backstory

She eventually started experimenting with computers since her family didnt have much time for her. When she got old enough she started hacking and writing code to make extra money, and eventually was taken in and formally trained to join the space program.

Ch'oo'ri live in deep oceans of their home planet as it's mostly water based. Due to their naturally aquatic nature they get dry very quickly and their language is mostly developed to be heard and spoken underwater, so it's a lot of difficult to pronounce noises. They are all bioluminescent and have emotion reading capabilities which helps them avoid hostile creatures. They have tentacles to swim in the deep sea and typically have large families with up to dozens of siblings
