Taylor turned from Vicky to look at Oliver. She didn't mean to be offensive, but sometimes her curiosity got the best of her. Besides, she was bored. "She always like this?"

Her hands curled into fists at her side, but she could only let out another growl of irritation. "Well, fine, what if I do give you something in return." Hurriedly, she added, "Not whatever you're insinuating, but... whatever else you might want."

"Yup," he laughed. "She told me she didn't want to break her nails, and that I should help her, but I don't think I have the energy."

Oliver looked over, trying to not seem annoyed that he had to set down his book. "Yeah."

"Like what? Let's hear what you would like to offer." He said, raising his broken eyebrow, looking down at her. He was still smirking, very amused.

"She didn't want to break her nails? Are you kidding me?" He asked, laughing with Rylan. "Is she always worried about that?"

"Ooh, seems like you two have something in common. You related?" She was clearly amused by Oliver's tone of voice, and dropped down to sit between Vicky's tent and his. Her blue eyes sparkled with intrigue. "What are you reading?"

"I can buy you... something." She bit her lip, looking everywhere but at the smug look on his face. This was a battle she was determined to win.

"Yeah! I can't make this stuff up." He grinned at the other boy. "Said her acrylic nails 'cost too much' to break. I honestly don't even know why she's here."

"A book," he said curtly, not really wanting to talk. He didn't particularly enjoy social interactions, but he put up with them anyway

"Like what? We're out in the middle of nowhere, and I'm sure you'll 'forget' anyway. So, no. No deal." He said, still smirking

"That's a good point. She didn't really seem like the outdoorsy type, you know? How do you put up with that all the time?"

His reply only made her lips twitch into a smirk. Now she was determined not to let this go. Taylor scooted closer, peering over at the book. She looked up at Vicky for a second, about to ask her something, but glanced back at Oliver when she realized the other girl probably wouldn't reply. "I don't doubt that it's a good book, but... it's nice outside. Enjoying the outdoors could be fun." After a second, she added, "I'm Taylor."

"You're not one to take 'no' for an answer, are you?" The blonde muttered. That was something she could usually admire, but this boy infuriated her. "Well, ugh. Whatever. I'll... figure it out."

"I don't. During dinners with our families I stay in my room," Rylan replied. "Her parents asked me to tag along to make sure she doesn't get into too much trouble."

Yeah, Victoria was kinda just kicking at the dirt with her foot. Oliver glanced up at her. "I'm not sure what you find so funny. Also, I'm not really looking forward to getting Lyme disease, thank you. I'm Oliver."

"Nope! Well, lemme know when you figure it out, but until then, you're on your own, half-pint." He said, beginning to walk backwards, saluting to her.

"Trouble? I honestly doubt that she'll leave her tent. If she ever gets it set up, that is."

Her grin only widened at the first part of his reply, and as she spoke, she patted the ground next to her as an invitation for Victoria to join their conversation. "Nice to meet you, Oliver. What brings you out here? I mean, besides an inherent fear of ticks and the outdoors."

She flipped her hair over her shoulder and strode off. The nickname had only agitated her further, as was proven by the look of pure rage on her face. Clearly, she could not do everything on her own, because she was already having a hard time dragging all her camping equipment along.

"Either way, she can sleep in her car." He rolled his eyes. "Might not be as comfortable as she likes, but she'll deal."

Victoria edged her way over, but didn't sit. "Belle wanted to come," he said. "And I don't trust her to be here alone because...well, I'm sure that's obvious." That's what he called Victoria, because Belle was her middle name.

Ian snickered, turning around and started to walk away, finding the whole thing hilarious.

"Let me guess. The really nice car was hers?"

"Belle..." She echoed, turning to look at Victoria. "That's a pretty name!" Taylor then returned her attention to Oliver. "Give it a chance. Who knows, maybe you'll like it. I'm going for a walk later tonight... maybe you two could join me?"

She looked at him over her shoulder and dropped the bag in her left hand so she could use it to flip him off. Clearly she didn't share his view on the situation.

"Yup. And she got it when she was sixteen. Imagine."

"Don't count on it," he replied, pushing his glasses back up his nose. "Depends on what happens, I guess."

Well, he honestly couldn't care less. Not that he cared anyway. But still.

His jaw went slack. "Are you serious? How come you don't have a fancy car like that?"
