Ok I already did it to day, sorry I still Im a noob to this game I only know that nurturing an egg help it hatch faster but nothing beyond that why do you still want it nurtured?

That's alright. Nurturing a hatching raises its base stats.

I was exploring a pitch dark cave and I saw a hatchling and nurture it and it dropped three scales.
