Chapter 3 POV:Lakepaw
" Rise and shine! " A unfamiliar voice called. I opened one eye.
" Who are you? " I asked.
" I'm Blossompaw, and my brother over there-- "
" Is the handsome one! " Another voice called." You'll be late for your first lesson, and you'll have plenty of time to do ticks duty later. "
" Fox dung! " I yelped, and hurried outside to find Windtail already waiting for me, a annoyed look on her face.
" Late for your first day? " She sighed. " It's okay, we're not doing much today. I'm just going to teach you how to do ticks duty and change the nursery bedding. "
I held back a groan. Windtail caught the look on my face and chuckled.
" Come on, we'll do hunting lessons tomorrow, go find Echomist and get some mouse bile, then meet me at the Elder's den. "
I trotted to the medicine cat den and poked my head inside. Echomist nodded towards a pile of green goo.
" Those are the mouse bi-- " her voice seized up, and in a different voice, a raspy and deep voice, she said;
" Darkness will come in 2 moon's time, a innocent act shall turn to crime, unless the kits of a black cat can save the day, all the clans will go astray. " She finished and her voice went back to normal.
" That covers all of it, any questions? " She asked.
I shooked my head and went to find Windtail, the words of what seemed like a prophecy still ringing in my head.

Chapter 3
POV: Mosspaw
"Look who's going to be late for her first day of apprenticeship!" Meowed an unfamiliar voice mockingly.
Startled, I leapt up and clawed at the cat's muzzle without opening my eyes, earning a yowl from the cat that I had clawed. Opening my eyes, I saw another apprentice glaring at me.
"Well, that wasn't very nice," she huffed.
"To be fair, you were teasing her," meowed another apprentice. Turning to me, he said, "I'm Pebblepaw, by the way, and that's my littermate, Skypaw. And I hope you enjoy dealing with ticks. I don't think Lightfur will be very happy that you're late."
"Fox dung!" I exclaimed, and rush outside.
Looking exasperated, Lightfur meowed, "Late for your first day. No big deal, we aren't doing anything to complicated today. Now, go ask Snowmound for some mouse bile, will you?"
I grimaced. "Fine..."
Lightfur purred, amused. "Come on, we'll practice hunting tomorrow."
Padding to the medicine cat den, I stuck my head inside. To my surprise, Fuzzstar was also in the den, dropping off some herbs and moss.
Snowmound nodded towards a pile of stinky, green goo. "That's the mou--"
Her voice cut off, and was soon replaced by a deeper, echoing meow.
"After two moons, darkness will arrive,
An honest deed will allow an evil to thrive...
If the kits of night get led astray,
Every Clan shall crumble away."
Snowmound's voice returned to normal, as the last word left her lips, and she looked around, blinking. "Do you have any questions?"
I shook my head nervously and took the mouse bile.
When we trotted outside, Fuzzstar mewed, "The kits of night. You're mother is Nightcloud, right?"
I nodded uncertainly. "So is Lakepaw's mother."
"Go to Thornstar, and tell him about the prophecy. Perhaps he can provide insight on what happened," he meowed.
I dipped my head, and ran to the exit.
Lightfur noticed me, and called, "Where are you going?"
"Fuzzstar said that I have to go tell Thornstar something," I mewed.
"In that case, then, you may go," Lightfur meowed, nodding.
She had barely finished before I scampered out of camp and made my way to StormClan territory.

Chapter 4
POV: Lakepaw
" Windtail, have Echomist ever said something strange? ' I asked, " like weird prophecyish lines that ryhmes? "
Windtail looked at me.
" Are you mousebrained? " She purred, " She's a medicine cat, that's literally what she does. "
I stood up abruptly and ran across the clearing, heading for the leader's den. Thornstar was in there, talking to Hawkflight.
" That will be all, " he said, " you may leave. "
Hawkflight padded outside, saw me, and asked:
" What are you doing here? You should be training, not wandering around like a kit. "
" I need to see Thornstar" I mewed, " I think there's something Thornstar needs to know. "
Hawkflight frowned suspiciously, but moved aside, allowing me to slip inside the entrance.
" Hawkflight, I thought I told you to leave! " Thornstar said, without turning around to see who came in.
" It's not Hawkflight, " I told him, " it's Lakepaw. " I told him what happened in the medicine den.
" That was a prophecy, wasn't it? " I asked.
" It must be. The kits of a black cat... Could that be you and Mosspaw? Fuzzstar must know about this, you can go to Cloudclan and talk to him. " Thornstar looked 10 moons older. I realized that was my cue to leave, and hurried outside, racing towards the cloudclan camp. I ran for a while, not thinking about where I was going. Soon I found myself completely lost, then the fields of grass around me rustled, and I acted instinctively, raking my class over a cat's muzzle.
" Owww! " Mosspaw complained. " Why did you do that? "
" Sorry! " I yelped. " Didn't know it was you. "
" Is this stormclan territory? I was running and I got lost. " Mosspaw sounded scared. " Where are we? "
A yowl of triumph, and something landed on top of us.
" I found trespassers!! Two apprentices, trying to steal our food! "

Chapter 4
POV: Mosspaw
Before long, I was lost in a large field. Looking around, I was completely caught off guard, when another cat jumped up and clawed my muzzle. I quickly realized it was Lakepaw, judging by her scent.
We talked for a bit, before another cat pounced on us.
I squeaked, and curled into a ball, before I leapt into the air, landing on the cat's back. Having no idea what I was doing, I bit the cat's ear, and was rewarded by a yowl.
"Get off me, you piece of mouse dung!" The cat growled. "You're on SnowClan territory, and we can report you to Icestar!"
I hurriedly got off of him, and got a better look at the two cats. One of them, the tom who had pounced on us, was gray, with huge amber eyes. The other cat was a white she-cat. She had black eartips and amber eyes.
"We're not on SnowClan territory, you dungbrains," Lakepaw spat. "The border's behind you!"
The SnowClan cat shook out his fur, and meowed. "But you were trying to steal our food, so it doesn't really matter."
"No, we were not trying to steal your food, we were sent to tell the each other's leaders information that you have no right to know," I meowed defiantly. "Who do you think you are?"
"We're SnowClan warriors," he meowed. "I'm Owleyes, and that's Whitebird." He turned his head towards the white she-cat, who had been quietly watching beside Lakepaw.
We heard another cat meow, sounding annoyed, "Whitebird! Owleyes! Are there apprentices trying to steal our food or not?"
Whitebird glanced at Owleyes, as if to say, 'You were the one who got us into this, so I'm not answering that.'
Owleyes muttered something incomprehensible and called back, "There were apprentices, but they weren't trying to steal our food."
Lakepaw and I watched them trot back to their side of the border.
"So," I mewed. "Any idea what to do now? We aren't any less lost than we were before."

Chapter 5
POV: Lakepaw
" Wait! " I called to the snowclan warrior, " Can you tell us where the route to Cloudclan is? "
Owleyes rolled his eyes ( darn that was... ) " Fine, little apprentices, from here to left, then turn right at the four trees. Walk for 9 tail lengths and you should see a river. After that, follow the river down stream, and you should be at the border of cloudclan territory. But remember, you have to go down stream, not up, or else you will find yourselves at the leafclan territory. They won't be as lenient as us. "
With that final warning, he ran off to join his clanmate. I looked at Mosspaw. " Do you remember all of that? " I asked.
" Nope! " She replied cheerfully. She trotted off to the left, and I ran to join her.

A little while after...

We reached the stream, and Mosspaw asked.
" Which way? Downstream, or upstream? "
" I don't know! I thought you knew! " I yelped
" I thought you knew! " She replied.
Well, I thought. Lost again, we must be the most forgetful apprentices in the history of apprentices!
" Well, " I said, " We do have a 50% chance of getting it right. "
Mosspaw grined. " Upstream then. "
We ran off the the north, not knowing what was ahead of us.

POV: Mosspaw
The SnowClan warrior gave us instructions on how to reach CloudClan territory, and bounded off. Pity that we forgot the instructions almost immediately after he ran off.
How bad could it be? I thought, as we make our way, hopefully, to the CloudClan camp.

A little while later...

After we reached the stream, I asked, "Downstream or upstream?"
"I don't know; I thought you knew!" Lakepaw yelped.
I shrugged. "I thought you knew."
Wonderful, I thought. We're lost, once again. If only StarClan had blessed us with some memory powers...
"Well, we have a 50% chance of getting it right," Lakepaw mewed.
"Upstream it is, then!" I declared, grinning.
After awhile, we heard cats meowing, sounding like they were arguing. Looking around, I saw many tall trees, and huge boulders.
"I never knew your Clan had so many giant rocks..." she meowed, glancing around.
"That's because it doesn't," I replied. "Guess what, we got it wrong."
Just then, I heard cats approaching.
Looking alarmed, Lakepaw mewed, "Now what?"
"I hope you can climb," I replied. "You go first, since I can boost you up, if it comes to that."
She scrambled up the tree, faster than I had expected. I climbed up after her, until we were both seated on a relatively high branch.
"Um, just so you know," I hissed, slightly embarrassed. "I don't know how to get down."

POV: Lakepaw
I sighed, exasperated. I watched as the cats below us sniffed at the ground.
" Someone has been here, " A pretty she-cat said. " Smells like Stormclan and Cloudclan. "
" We better track them down, " Another cat said, sounding frightened, " Or else Brachstar will have our pelts! "
I stayed very still, not daring to breathe. These cats are definitely from Leafclan! Leafclan had a nasty reputation, and rumors were that they eat apprentices! Stormclan queens always said " If you don't behave, a Leafclan cat will appear and swallow you whole! " I shivered and looked at Mosspaw.
" They're leaving, " she hissed in my ear, " It's now or never! "
Carefully, I scampered down the tree, never daring to take my eyes off the Leafclan cats. Mosspaw took a deep breathe, and slowly slithered down the tree with my help. When she got down, her pelt ruffled by the many branches, I looked around for the Leafclan cats, but they were gone!

Chapter 6
POV: Mosspaw
"Well, that's not good," I meowed nervously. "We aren't any less lost than we were before, and, now, we have no idea whatsoever where those LeafClan cats are. If only StarClan had blessed us with better memories..."
"So where do we go now?" Lakepaw asked. "Because we're probably not going to survive the night here."
"That is extremely true," I agreed, sighing. "Apparently, Branchstar is more forgiving than the other leaders, but I don't exactly want to take that chance."
After a few moments, I heard a growl, coming from behind us. A disgusting stench hit my nostrils, and as Lakepaw and I spun around, we found ourselves face to face with a badger. It snarled, and raised it's huge paws (badgers do have paws, right?). Remembering how I had watched the older apprentices practice battling as a kit, I scampered under the belly of the badger, only to receive a face full of fur, as the badger brought its claws down on the place where I had just been. Choking on the odour of the badger, I yelped for Lakepaw to help get the mousebrained piece of fox dung off me, trying to claw the badger. I felt a sharp burst of pain, and yowled.
Just then, the two LeafClan cats ran out from behind a bush. The she-cat grabbed my scruff, and dragged me out from under the badger, while the other cat, a black tom with a pale gray underbelly, clawed at the badger's eyes.
"Pesky, featherbrained apprentices," the she-cat growled. "They never know what's good for them. I suppose we'll have to send for your leaders now."
Coughing, I opened my eyes just in time to see the badger lumber off, bleeding from many scratches.
"Th..thank you for not eating us," I mumbled, feeling groggy all of a sudden.
Lakepaw trotted toward me, and drew in a sharp breath. I look down, and see blood pooling out from a long gash on my belly (that's probably extremely cringy, but that's what happens when I sleep at midnight every day :P).
