Sorrowpaw jumps and let's out a soft noise of surprise.
"Just um... just getting back from a tiny walk around camp?" He said as he nervously looked his mentor in the eyes before he turned his gaze to his shuffling paws

Windsong
Windsong jumped up as leader emerged from the den. She quickly noticed it was Dewstar, not Applestar, but walked up to her anyways. The leader had been nothing but kind to her and Thornclan, she had nothing to be cautious about.
"Morning Dewstar, how'd you sleep?" she said in her soft voice as she tried to make conversation.

Beefeather
beefeather looks at the position of the sun and sighs "fine just make sure not to leave camp at night with all this snow it's dangerous"

Dewstar

"Goodmorning, Windsong," she greeted the warrior with as much enthusiasm as she could muster...which admittedly was not enough. "It was fine, thank you. How have you been? My warriors treating you well?" Dewstar teased lightly. Getting to know Applestar's warriors was important if they were going to make this work in the long term.

Sorrowpaw
Sorrowpaw stared at the ground in embarrassment and nodded. "I'm sorry, I couldn't sleep."

Windsong
Windsong nodded. "Oh yes, they've been perfectly fine." She trailed off towards the end and just kind of stood there in an awkward silence. She didn't know what to say other than comment on the current weather and she didn't feel like causing any tensions

"ok, let's head in the den its freezing out here" he puffs his thick gray fur and strides into the medicine cat den

Dewstar

Dewstar nodded, breathing deeply. "Are you taking care of yourself? You need to stay healthy to take over the clan when the time comes." She gave the she-cat a weary purr, tiredness creeping into her tone. "We are one clan now. And you are the only deputy." Dewstar wondered if she should have appointed a new deputy after Pebblestream had passed on, but her grief was still too strong.

Sorrowpaw scrambles to keep up and follows his mentor into the den. "What do we need to do today Beefeather?"

Windsong
Windsong gave the leader a look of pity but quickly got rid of it. "We shouldn't dwell on the bad things happening, there are plenty good! We have kits and apprentices, and although we get hungry sometimes we're getting by." she again let silence settle before breaking it. "Of course, if I'm needed I will take my place but I hope to Starclan it isn't anytime soon."
