I have a tiny brain I'm sorry-
The opening crawls dumb down the time that passed between the movies and the end goal of the movie you're watching.
So maybe just dumb it down, make it the core and then as the story goes on fill in the gaps and add more detail?

Also heck just expect me to have a super tiny brain from now on out.

Maybe put it as a nightmare
Yet only put bits and pieces everytime?

When i have nightmares I only remember the fun/scary bits.

I woke up and found out I was choking on my arm.

Then another one I was on trop of a car kicking zombie heads off the bodies.
Woke up to find out a was kicking my wall.

What you have so far seems good, yet I think Cal seems kinda OOC.
Yet you're doing a better job then I ever could.
Cal seems more optimistic then somebody to think pessimistic.
I think he'd find something to do or tinker with something while his music plays instead of sulk around and be like 'gOd tHeRes nOtHiNG tO dO-'
