Ilona sighed. Well lovely, I should be going. It was nice to meet you miss. I have work to do. She said sweetly. She stood up and began to walk out of the bar. It would take her a bit to find what Oran wanted her to so she had better start looking.

Marla stared after the woman for a second before getting up to run after her. She knew it was silly, but her gut told her she would regret it if she didn't. She managed to catch the woman just outside the door.
"Listen, I don't mean to bother you, but I want you to know that if you need anything while you're in town, I'm more than happy to help," Marla said in a rush. "Just come back here and ask around for Marla. Someone will know where to find me."

Ilona nodded. I will keep that in mind. Though as I said, I don't need much. She mewled. She smiled at her then continued walking.

"Okay. See you around then." Marla smiled and waved as the woman walked away, though in her head she was scambling to think of a reason why she had just done that.

Adona sighed. She hated to walk away so quickly but making friends was not on her mind at the moment, not that it ever was.. There was a problem she had to find, she just didn't know where. She set one hand on her sword as she walked incase she may need it.

Marla stood on the steps of the tavern, just looking around the street. The mysterious stranger was out of sight by now, having turned a corner Marla hadn't seen her take. The sun was setting over the mountains in the distance. Inside, the sounds of rowdy drunks and flute music continued. Away from all the commotion, Marla's heart grew heavy. The sunset, beautiful as it was, was only a marker of the fourth day since she had gotten any word about Gus. She felt so useless just waiting there, but what choice did she have? Suppose she left to look for Gus, and her informant came back to find her gone. What a waste of her time - and his - that would be. So she waited.

A sudden breeze made Marla rub her arms. She shook her head and turned to go back inside. No use dwelling on what could not be helped.

Ilona tugged gently on her scarf. This was frustrating. She paused for a second then slid into an alleyway. She kept her back to the wall as she listened. She drew her sword as a growling noise came to her ears. A minute passed then she jumped out in front of a tall man being dragged by an angry, monstrous creature. She was happy to be on a lesser populated road. The man scowled at her and she narrowed her eyes, before lunging at him with her sword. He pushed her off and she slid back across the dirt road. Another lunge, this time blocked by the creature. She grunted, backing away from them. They were definitely what Oran had wanted her to find but maybe she needed to regroup. They came at her again but before they could get her, she had disappeared from their sight, leaving them confused.

Back in the bar, and therefore much warmer, Marla settled herself into a game of cards someone had started around one of the tables. The table was mostly full of newcomers to the bar, and those who were regulars just laughed and shook their heads, knowing they were about to see some fools getting scammed out of their money. Marla turned to the man next to her, a longtime patron of this particular tavern, and asked him in her sweetest voice if he would show her how to play.
"Only if you share you winnings with me," he replied, letting her know that he knew full well what she had planned.

Ilona sat down on the roof of a building. She had to get more control over that or she'd get hurt next time. She was able to fight monsters like that, she had faced worse, but she was a little off her game today. She laid back and took a deep breath as she went over her plan. She would not be able to leave till she got her target.

Marla went through the routine she knew so well, losing horribly at first and letting the man she had enlisted as her partner in crime baby her through the first few games. She laughed and joked and pretended to struggle with choosing which cards to keep and which to discard. When she won a round for the first time, one of the newcomers bought her a drink to celebrate, much to the amusement of everyone who knew her. Before long though, she and the man beside her had cleared the newcomers out of everything they were willing to gamble away. The newcomers stalked off grumbling.
