(Oh. My. Goodness. I forgot about this entirely.)

You wake in a room, on a bed of satin sheets. There are three sets of bunk beds in each room, but as far as you can tell they are vacant. They don't appear too messy, however two or three have rumpled blankets and clothes laid out overtop.

The last thing you remember was opening a letter addressed to you, but you don't remember what it said. There was a bright light, and the next thing you know here you are.

A girl opens the door to the room and locks eyes with you. She opens her mouth to speak, but nothing comes out - she appears too shocked by you. Then, she throws her head back and opens her mouth wide to yell, revealing long, sharp teeth. "KENADEEEEIIIGH!"

I take a step back in surprise, not knowing who this new arrival is and not knowing if I was invading their land or if they were invading mine. I hurry to get out my paper and pen to write down what I was trying to say.

The girl with the long fangs runs out the door and another, older girl rushes in. Her worried expression melts into a smile, and she clasps her hands together. "Hello!" Startled, you realize her hair is moving... a tangled, hissing mess of snakes. "I'm Princess Kenadeigh," she says, giving you a sympathetic look. "Don't strain yourself right now - I can explain everything. But," her Kenadeigh's face lit with an idea. "We should get you settled in first!"

After years of practice, my handwriting is extremely neat even when I'm rushing to reply.
'Nice to meet you, I am Princess Alexandria, but call me Alex. Thank you.' I write. I smile at Princess Kenadeigh as I show her my paper - as I cannot speak - liking this one instantly. The suprise and shock of seeing the fanged and clawed one is slowly dissipating, and I am feeling more comfortable in this place even if I didn't know much about it.

"Alex," Kenadeigh smiles, one of the snakes in her hair staring at you curiously. "Come on out and meet the others, but don't freak out. I think you'll find we're a lot like you." She opens the door, implying for you to follow her down the hall and into the main area.

Five other people are lounging on the furniture, talking and laughing, playing a game of cards. The girl from earlier is among them, looking unsettled. As Kenadeigh clears her throat to call their attention, they turn to look at you.

I wave shyly at the group, showing them my notepad so they could understand me. I pause before writing something more.
'I hope I can get to know you all well and become friends.' I show everyone the notepad again, smiling hesitantly.

One of the group members, a small boy who looks about your age squints, leaning forward. You see a slight bob to his head, before realizing his entire body is levitating off the ground - not that he's been sitting at a chair. "Huh," he says a little offhandedly, scratching his head.

Kenadeigh looks impatient with their silence. She straightens, motioning to you with a huge smile. "Guys, this is Alex! She just came!"

"Oh, let me see! Caroline, I can't see!" A squeak comes from the group, but no one else has said anything. Shyly, a blonde girl holding a folded umbrella in her hands reaches towards a potted purple pansy, turning it around to face you. "I love new members! I'm Chloe! It's nice to meet you Alex!"

Kenadeigh looks over at you. "Well...should we introduce everyone?"

I smile and wave at Chloe the plant/human, trying to figure out what I think about someone being a plant. Then I turn to my notepad again when Kenadeigh asks me if I wanted everyone to introduce eachother.
'Yes, please.' I write before showing it to Kenadeigh.

A collective groan rose from several members. "Ah, Kenadeigh, another introduction game? A tall boy with water circulating around his head in a large bubble gave her an annoyed look before glancing momentarily at you.

Kenadeigh shushed him with a wave of her hand. "Come on, this is good for you." She sat down next to Caroline on one of the couches, motioning for you to do the same.

"We'll say our names, curse, and why we have it!" She cleared her throat, the snakes in her hair hissing softly. "I'm Princess Kenadeigh! I have snakes as hair, of course, and it was a curse from one of my suitors, after I rejected him." She made a face, and the boy with the water rolled his eyes. "Who wants to go next? Caroline?"

"Sure," Caroline glanced at you with a tiny smile. "I'm Princess Caroline, and... I can't touch sunlight. That's why I carry around my umbrella." She brushed her hands over her pastel pink ruffled dress, blushing. "My mother mistreated a servant, and so they placed a curse on her firstborn child, promising that they would never see the sun."

I was not sure what to think about the reception of the introduction game. I always liked ice breaker games even if I couldn't really do some of them. During the pauses in the introductions, I wrote.

'I am Alex, my curse is that I am transparent... It's kind of confusing to explain, so I'll just leave it at that. One of my older sisters put the curse on me because she was jealous. I got more attention.'

I waited for my turn, listening intently to each person as they speak.
