Yeah, at first, I didn't like having to tote around my SSN to other places (I grew up not knowing it s: ), but then I realized during my college applications (which require SSNs 90% of the time, actually all 7 of my applications needed em), you just have to think about what things to trust with the SSN. Like PayPal is used almost everywhere (in conjunction with amazon, and who knows how many peeps across the globe use it) and colleges are real institutions that need that info. So as long as you have sound logic on where the info goes, it's good.
I don't know how Visas work, or Mastercards (I'm only 18 xD; ), but Edibbs is probably more experienced with this. I wish you luck with the diamondwork! c:

Well, with real credit and debit cards, all of your personal information is needed because it all goes back to a bank and/or credit bureau... But those major credit card companies also make gift cards that don't require any personal information like that because they like to make money lol So, that way, teenagers can use their named cards without needing to make a bank account nor apply for a credit card.
You can buy the Visa gift cards or Mastercard gift cards from gas stations and corner stores. The major brand gift cards can be used like any other gift card, except you can use them anywhere that accepts those major credit card names.
The only time that you would need to give any kind of information is when you use them online, and that's only because most online sites require a billing name and address in order to complete a transaction. You just have to put your name and any valid address.
