Ilona looked at him. What is flying like? She asked. His wings looked different from most winged sentient beings she had seen. Then again, she hadnt seen many. She tilted her head. Her eyes narrowed. Hummingbird, they looked similar to hummingbird wings. She readjusted her mask then looked forward again.

Ruff paused hovering. His head tilted to one side, "Depends on what kind of flying I suppose...and what kind of wings you have. I've heard tell that dragons are the most powerful of flyers. Pretty fast too. Hmmm Most fairies with butterfly or moth wings have a slower floating flight, not as exciting but more graceful. As for fairies like me. Well hummingbirds are the fastest and most agile flyers, though we don't do well in big storms or high winds as dragons or griffons. However depending on your various type of hummingbird wings you either got your short range flyers or your long distance flyers. Also at my size its a good idea to watch out for things like spider webs. I couldn't tell you what high altitude flight is like as I'm ill equipped to attempt it." Ruff shrugged, "For flying in general I'd say its pretty good. Its nice to get a bird's eye view and perspective on things. However it has its hazards and downsides too."


(Got to go for a bit. Getting close to little ones bed time.)

Hmm, sounds fun. Though hazards are expected with all things. she said quietly. A smile came to her face. She loved getting to talk, even if she tried not to show it. She looked around again, hoping to see some sign of a nearby town or such. There was not anything she could see. She tugged at her scarf again. The accessory seemed to be tightening, or maybe it was just her worry about the situation.

Ruff fluttered alongside of her. Hopefully they would find something soon. He would need to eat something soon. while not as bad as a hummingbird he still had a fast metabolism. If he used too much energy he would be forced into walking, and he really did not feel like limping across the landscape. A day of that and he would probably be too weak to do much of anything. He did have a bottle of special nectar on him, but that was for life and death emergencies only. With only three doses he had to be extra careful, especially as he had left the other two bottles at home and had no way to get to them. His eyes looked over the flora and fauna. If he could at least find a berry bush they could both at least grab a snack.

Ping. (Yes I forgot to ping with post, yes I am horrible at that.)

Ilona was brought to a similar realization by a slight pain in her stomach. Still, she wasnt quite sure if she should try looking. After weighing her options, she came to a stop. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to spot anything. She couldnt see anything. Without a word, she continued on. To distract herself, she started humming a bit. She kept an eye out for something though.

Ruff eyed the plants around them. Some were similar to the ones from home. Others were strange to him. He listened closely searching the sounds around them. "if we can find a spring or stream it might be worth our while to make a stop to rest. Plus look for some supplies."

That would be good, if we can find a body of water. She said quietly. She shut her eyes for a moment. No, nothing, but then again, I have never had the best hearing. You hear anything? She asked. She continued to listen for something. With some hesitation, she lifted her mask slightly, her face still not fully visible. No wait, maybe something, this way. She stated, turning aside to follow it. She quickly put the mask back on properly.

Ruff was about to speak when Ilona changed direction. It was the same direction he thought he could hear something so he thought it best to just keep quiet. A short while later the sound got stronger. "Sounds like a small spring maybe" Ruff commented. A few minutes more and the small pool bubbling up from the ground could be seen. Ruff flitted over the clear water examining it. Finding nothing alarming he knelt at the edge and tasted the water. Nodding in satisfaction he turned to his companion. Its safe to drink. Cool and sweet, must come from an underground river." Cupping his hands he sipped some of the water himself. It was refreshing after all that had happened in the last few hours.

That is good! Ilona said. She kneeled down by the spring. She patted her waist, clearly looking for something. That did not seem to bother her much though. She just stared at the water for a moment before lifting her mask slightly and getting a drink for herself. She then stood up, stretching a bit.
