Sasha nodded softly, " I need to learn more.. I don't know exactly how I am suppose to be doing things, and learning more never hurts a person.. I see no reason to not accept. " Her voice was calm, and soft like waves crashing upon a beach, but you could sense she was uneasy, and less due to fear more so that she felt she may be a burden to the older reaper due to her lack of knowledge. She didn't like feeling useless around others.

"Good," said Jacqueline. She turned to Xyatos and Thesys. "By your leave, my lords?"
Xyatos nodded and waved his hand in that same dismissive gesture. "Go."
Jacqueline nodded respectfully and turned. She strode from the council chamber and into the vast hall beyond, then turned to wait for Sasha.
Something was bothering Jacqueline. She knew exactly what it was, but it still unnerved her, because it hadn't bothered her for several hundred years. It was, of course, her memories of her time alive.
Or rather, her lack of them. Every other Reaper she knew could remember their life, unless they chose to forget it, and even then, they would know they made that choice. Jacqueline knew she had never made that decision, but yet, she still couldn't recall anything.
Going back into the land of the living, for something like this, worried Jacqueline, but she couldn't say why. She felt she'd need those memories...
She felt a wall in her mind. It was blank and flat. Right before it was a memory of waking up in a field of red grass, with black soil and bones littered throughout. But that was it. Behind that wall, she knew, were all her memories. But why couldn't she access them?
She stood there, jabbing at and investigating the wall, trying to pierce it or climb it or burrow around, but to no avail, until Sasha's voice shook her out of her reverie.

Sasha wandered out to the grand hall, her arms crossed just below her chest in a nervous manner, she was scared about all of this, what would happen if they all should fail? She pushed the thought away.. surely they would figure out what was happening. She spotted Jacqueline and she greeted her quietly, " Hello Jacqueline, ma'am, " She said, seeming nervous still and the slightest bit worried that the older reaper might be mean to her in some childish fear of hers. " W-where shall we be starting? " She asked, her eyes still sparkled with life though she was long dead, and she still had that bright light about her that was something only a young human had when they felt life without worry. She still seemed to hold a lot of her emotions, and feelings.

Jacqueline let out a long sigh through her nose, then instantly regretted it. It sounded like she was annoyed, when it was actually amusement.
"Please, don't call me ma'am. It makes me feel all old... and I don't know, important."
She offered Sasha an encouraging smile. The expression felt strange and unnatural on her face.
"Even though I'm technically your mentor, everyone in our ranks is an equal, beside the Lords. I want you to treat be like that. Understand?"

Sasha assumed that she had been annoyed, and she only grew more nervous, that was until she saw her smile, and she thought it odd.. Nobody really smiled here. She felt a bit comforted by it though, and nodded as she listened to Jacqueline. " Alright, I understand.. I promise I won't call you ma'am or treat you differently. "

"Good lass," said Jacqueline. In all honestly, she hadn't a clue where to start. But she had to at least act like she did.
"We have no clue what's causing this, or how dangerous it is. We have to be careful, and stealthy."
She held up a hand, palm flat. Smoke swirled around and solidified into an intricate silver dagger. "How good ]
are you at using your powers? It's easier here, in Death's realm, but you're going to have to be able to do it without concentrating on Earth. Thinking without thinking."
She closed her palm into a fist, and the blade burst into ash. She held it there for a moment to make her point before dropping it back down to her side.

" I.. I can cause death without thinking? But.. My control over my powers isn't the best, which is why I don't usually deal with any of the dangerous things reapers have to do and I simply go to kill people peacefully in their sleep, or suddenly with the least amount of pain possible. " Sasha admitted, she wasn't good with her powers, but not bad either. Somewhere in between.

Jacqueline groaned mentally, trying not to let her annoyance show. It wasn't Sasha she was mad at, just... general annoyance.
"Think of it this way. By simplest definition, the human body is controlled by electrical pulses and currents, no? That is a form of energy. Your power is, again, by simplest definition, control over energy and matter. If you concentrate enough, and practice enough, you can use that to cause death."
She wracked her mind, trying to come up with a better way to say it.
"When I summoned that dagger, I only manipulated what already exists. I drew on dust on the statues in the hall, tiny traces of elements in the air, and more, shaping it into the blade with my will. Similarly, I can control energy. You can cause certain parts of the body to heat or cool, or vibrate. In this manner, I can cause strokes or heart attacks, burst blood vessels, and other means of death."
She paused to let this sink in for Sasha. "Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Sasha nodded, she did indeed understand what she had meant, " Alright, thank you for explaining it, I will try to practice more often so I can control it better. " She said with a sheepish grin, though she tried to keep herself calm and relaxed.

Jacqueline took pity on the girl and said, "You know there's always the armory here, and we can stop and get fitted out and equipped before we head down to earth."
She gestured down the hall and began walking, talking as she did.
"We'll try Reaping someone and see if we can get more information out of the voice. Then we can try to track it, if possible."
She snapped her fingers, a small flame sparking to life at the tip of her index finger. "I caused the particles to vibrate so fast that there was great enough heat for the fire to start. Now, you try."
