The guard just walks towards the training grounds, ignoring them.

When they got there, he said, "stay here. I will be right back." The guard walks away. He goes to Harley. He asked her a few questions. When he comes back, he said, "today we won't be doing anything here. Today you will be shoveling all day. The hole have to be exactly five feet wide and five feet tall." He said, hand in him a shovel.

"Yes Sir" Dante says obediently, taking the shovel and beginning to dig.

Ryan raised and eyebrow at the guard but did it anyway. He started to dig.

Halle shrugged and did the same.

" The water truck will come three times. One in about 30 mines. The next in the afternoon. And the last at evening. Good luck," he said, walking away. "Oh, and if you find anything you have to report to a guard."

Dante still dug, his hole becoming a bit larger each minute.

The guard went back to his post. The only shade was a tree with a cot banned to everyone but Harley. Kids who have stepped foot into the shade have never been seen again.

"We'll isn't this lovely." Halle joked as she dug her hole. "What's the point of this anyway? It's like the idea came straight out of 'Holes'."

Ryan shrugged. "They're probably making us do this for a reason."

After about 3 more minutes of digging, Dante found a rusted, banged-up box the size of a deck of cards. he wiped it off and found it was carved with the name 'Davis O' Brian'. He stepped out of the hole and called to a guard, "I found something!"

The guard rushed over to him, took the box, and went into Harleys office, giving it to her. She looked over it and inside it, but there was nothing. "Throw it away." She said
