but why are regen points popping up everywhere? and how come my regen points are only on lunemaras

I'm not sure what you mean by that. But anyway, Lunemara's are getting regen points because of the fact that they currently got a change.
Krin does this so that if a change is made to a sylestia species- if the revamp changes some colors or traits, it will set it so that they are regenerable for free, to make sure that you don't hate the pet you once loved.
I'm sort of bad at explaining things, but I hope this makes a little sense.
