"He had it coming to him, he was ripping not only us off but everyone else as well." Henry answered taking a moment to jump over a small puddle that stood in his way. "I didn't keep it either, I gave it back to the community."

Autumn shrugged as she walked. "I suppose you're right. But do explain the blacksmith incident to me again?" She asked, giving Brook an almost sly smirk. She paused for a moment to listen to their surroundings before continuing on. She also studied the area about them as they walked.

"That wasn't my fault, but yours. Man nearly cut my tail off, I had a bald spot for months." He wrinkled his nose some at the thought. "So how have you been? It's been what nearly a year?"

Autumn considered the event she had brought to mind and realized it had been her fault. She smiled softly and looked at Brook. "It's been thirteen months to be exact. So a little over a year. I've been doing okay. Everyday goes by normally, so.... nothing much to complain about."

"So you haven't...you haven't met anyone yet?" Henry asked his ears going back a little. If he hadn't been covered in fur it would have been easy to tell he was blushing.

Autumn didn't notice her friend's odd behavior. She shook her head in response. "No, no I have not. Not many people live in the forest, let alone our kind."

The fox was silent for a moment, keeping his interest down. Should he tell her? Was now a good time? They would be on the road for some time after all though he didn't want to rush things like this. "I know the feeling, I've seen only a few in the last year, none like myself though. I fear that it might be too late for some of the races..." his tail flicked behind him some before he stopped walking ears back with an embarressed look.

Autumn flicked her ear at him as she walked, letting him know she was listening. Suddenly she saw him drop out of her peripheral vision and turned to see if he was alright. She stopped as she tilted his head. "What's wrong with you?" She asked. "You're acting almost bashful."

"Autumn...I have something to confess-" The fox nervously took his tail in his hand and ran his hand through the fur. "In the many years I have known you...I-I have grown certain feelings for you...I like you...like, like you like you...if that makes any sense."

Autumn watched her little foxy friend and listened to his confession. When he had finished, her eyes were wide with surprise, her ears standing erect. Then they flattened to her head as she looked down shyly. "You really think of me that way?" She asked softly.
