Hadley drove into the parking lot of the Sanctuary. The sign hanging near the stables and building said "Brookfield Sanctuary" in beautifully scripted letters. It was her first day working here, and she was nervous. She went to the other side of her car and pulled out the cage that had been on the seat.
Inside the cage was her beautiful companion, Perrie the Peregrine Falcon. Hadley smiled and opened the cage, allowing the bird to stretch and hop onto her gloved hand. She looked back at the building, before walking towards it.
There she spotted a boy who looked about her age. "Hello- I'm Hadley, I'm looking for anyone who works here. I'm new..."

Hadley tried to shake his hand, Perrie letting out an irritated shriek. The falcon shot off into the air as she shook Ethan's hand. "I work with the raptors- sorry about Perrie. She's a falcon that I've known almost since she hatched." She smiled at Ethan.
