I kind of agree for Pocahontas... And the same is true with Mulan, who is also based on a historical character. I still like these two movies and love the characters (I like the link of Pocahontas with nature and how she is willing to accept people from different culture, and I like Mulan's strenght, by that I mean that I like the fact that she is physically strong, but also that she has the strenght to stay true to herself and to be who she wants to be despite the uses of her society), BUT I think they should have given them other names and not pretend that they were real historical characters even if they are loosely based on some.
I have a strong hatred for the movie Hercules for a similar reason, though. It contradicts the mythology so much that I think it's total nonsense. It especially annoys me since they could have done something so much better if they had really followed Hercules' myth. (Pocahontas is waaaay more closer to the real character history than Hercules is to Greek mythology actually XD).


Rapunzel is great! She is one of my favorite disney princess too! She is innocent, she dreams, yet she is not weak at all. I like Flynn, he is so different and more interesting than the serious and boring princes we see in a lot of older Disney movies... The movie is serious and very funny. It's really a feel good movie for me!
For this one it's the contrary than for the others, I like the Disney version more than the original fairytale!

I think Merida is also definitely one of my favorite (I say says to strong willed girl who needs no man!).

Among the more ancient disney princesses I like Belle because she is smart and not just beautiful, and I also like the lesser known Kida... I like Anna for Frozen, too, from the same reason I like Rapunzel, And many more (who are not necessarily princesses).
I kind of dislike Ariel since she is such a spoiled child (even if I like the movie)

Ariel is spoiled, she literally sings, I want more. I am also overjoyed to hear so many people love Tangled as well... it truly is wonderful. :P

Tangled is so great! I'm also happy to see that so many people here like it! I often had the impression that this movie was not very popular compared to some other Disney movies, I almost had the feeling that I was weird for liking it more! But really this movie makes me feel happy every time I watch it!

And yes, I want more that someone who is just singing! And I also think that Prince Eric is a little bit dumb... He falls in love only because of a voice, and doesn't even seem to realize that human!Ursula is not the girl from the beach... Come on, Ariel has red hair! XD

Clearly the characters in The Little Mermaid are not the brightest.

I like Moana, a princess that's willing to trust her gut even when society disagrees.
