Bastian tied back his hair and looked out the window of the train. He was determined to figure out if you could find the tracks without passing through station 9 3/4. Not that he really could figure that out from inside the train.

Spectre shot out of his cage and alighted in the other apartment, perching on the bag rack above the head of the girl with the cat. "Spectre, this is why I don't let you out on the train," Bastian grumbled, putting his book down and entering the other apartment. They already invited him in so the offer still stood, right? His eyes landed on the open window. "Don't you dare," he hissed at his owl. Spectre shifted her wings, preparing to take off. "Oh Merlin," Bastian muttered, lunging across the compartment for the window.
