I don't think there are a small group of Zelda fans. x.x There are many that I know of. Almost everyone I know knows of Zelda and enjoys it. xD
Phantom Hourglass, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and the original The Legend of Zelda on NES.
I don't remember them very much, and only really played Wind Waker and OoT at a friend's house like 10 years ago.

the only people other than myself that play Zelda are my brothers and parents. i've played and completed Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks, Oracle of Seasons, and A Link to the Past (Game Boy version). I got about halfway through Link's Awakening before i gave up (because my brother Ethan wouldn't let me use a guide), im in the process of completing Oracle of Ages (with the Link System), and i played small amounts of Wind Waker, A Link Between Worlds, and both the original Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link with the Game Boy adaptations (sorry for the long comment).

I love Zelda to death, but for the life of me, I can't beat a Zelda game without consulting an online guide just once. XD
Breath of the Wild is currently my favorite, though my favorites are always changing.

Breath of the Wild is waaaaay different than most Zelda games, and I already knew it was going to be before I played it. But it still retains that same Zelda feel, so I'm okay with it. Also, the world may be huge, but it's far from empty. There's always some secret to find in every area, and I really enjoyed looking through all the game had to offer. I've put so many hours into BotW and I still haven't found every secret. Also, there's autosave, which is good for me because I died... a lot. XD The combat system is so different from other Zelda games, and it might take a while to get used to (as it did for me). It's a nice, fresh take on Zelda, though it still doesn't stray too far from what Zelda is at its core.
