here is what I figured out.
Two lighira prides are at war with each other. One is fire, one is water. The reason behind the feud is unknown, having been forgotten long ago. One day, in the middle of a day free from fighting, a cub from the pride of the sun, and a cub from the pride of the ocean end up meeting on neutral ground, for they both left to go practice hunting on their own. As they grow, their friendship turns to love, but it is a secret they must keep from the prides.
