Introduction: Taverns were always a bit too crowded for his liking but, he was rain soaked and cold. He'd held out long enough to locate the shadyest tavern in the whole of the usually bustling port city. Right on the docks too. He shook the water from his mane and pushed open the door, hitting his horns on the top of the door frame even though he was sure to duck. All eyes immediately turned to him, though most were good at hiding it save for one who didn't seem to want to.
The old bulbori was sitting alone and it was clear why. He was here recruiting and there were no takers. Byrd made his way straight for the old bul. "Mind if I join ya?"

Personality: Seious and intimidating at all times, at least seemingly. He does have a rather good sense of humour but, he is imposing enough that people never really know whether or not to laugh. He is actually quite mellow, his outward appearance is mostly due to his size and eerily calm demeanour.

Description: large even for a male lighira, his large mane and deep evenly toned voice give him quite the presence. His size makes him awkward in even small crowds. He is somewhat clumsy on land "Big paws" as he would say. Despite this he has phenomenal sea legs, somehow being on a boat swaying on the waves improves his balance. Enjoys flights on the open ocean where there is no land in sight so long as he has a boat to land on. Not the best swimmer, but he manages alright. Speaks in a slight west African accent, quite subtle really but with no hint of the typical pirate accent save for the fact he shortens some connecting words like "of" or "as". As such he is easily identifiable one of foreign birth and upbringing but much local experience.

Peering into the gloom he could make out two shiny blue orbs staring him over and seeming to pierce into his head. "Ye add'm all oop an' they look like a ship full o' galoots wit' no rudder n' nay a lick o' sense fer gettin' they paws inta the loot." Her sweet voice sullied by her salty slang. Out of the shadow the captain's, small, leather banded, wallet flew out and landed on his table. The contents had been rummaged and rearranged but otherwise left in place. "I ken bandy rush er wood t'gedder n' make some purdy fine barrels n' shorin' ta keep ye afloat too."
