I'm vey excited about your views on such matter! I am so used to the typical duisgusted, "this is ridiculous" look that people give me when I mention these things.
It is really a relief.
I do have to ask though--when you say evolution, do you mean macro evolution or micro evolution?

Well, I mostly mean macroevolution, but I have studied both, and both would apply. Creatures in the bigfoot category could very well be missing links or as-yet undiscovered branches of hominid. The creation of new species, however the means, is an established fact that seems to be ignored by those who criticize the field of cryptozoology.
A lot of people have an aversion to ideas like cryptozoology and mythology because they've misanalyzed the people who are interested in them. They're so disinclined to becoming a paranoid crackpot - pardon me - or somebody glued to a library seat that they don't realize you don't have to be in order to study these things. There's nothing wrong with stereotyping in my opinion, contrary to what's politically correct these days, but when people stick so steadfastly to it that they ignore all previous information about a subject, they begin to be discriminate. Unfortunately, in today's society, people only seem to notice the issues being debated on their social media instead of their own personal flaws. It's something easily corrected if diagnosed, but no one ever sees it.

Hmm, that is very deep of you.
Personally, I do not believe in macro evolution (though I see the idea, point and sense of it, and I have considered it before, I've simply found a lot of proof against it.) Micro evolution, of course, I definitely agree with.
Unlike a lot of cryptozoologists, I don't think that "bigfoot" is a "missing link" or hominid. I believe it is just a as-of-yet undiscovered ape species, possibly gorilla, formed not by macro evolution, but by the subtle changes of one animal creating another, more advanced one.

I don't intend to criticize your beliefs, but what's the proof you're referring to? I haven't found many people willing to discuss this sort of thing with me, so I'd love to hear why so many don't believe in macroevolution. There's probably something I've failed to see, and I'm always willing to reconsider my stance.

I really appreciate that and find your ability to have an open mind admirable. But this chat is about cryptozoology, not religious depates, so if you are intereseted, I would like to have this conversation in a seperate chat, just in case a cryptozoologist who doesn't want to participate doesn't have to see it.
If you want to create another chat, I'd love to discuss this.

I don't know that this is religious, but I suppose I did stray.
Uh, what do you plan to do as a professional cryptozoologist? Will you go out on the field or write books, or...?

I mostly plan to go into the field, in the Everglades or maybe in Dover and Jersey. I do like writing so if I get inspiration I might write about my encounters.
I have few friends that actually believe in cryptids, and I've commonly been told that I'm going to become an uncivilized "hill-billy" and live in a shack in the woods...whille I probably won't be rich, I doubt it would go that far. :)
What about you? Do you seek a career in cryptozoology, or just a side interest?

Well, if you ever do publish any findings, just tell me and I'll read them! Anyway, the greatest cryptozoologists probably did stay in shacks in the woods a few times, so whenever that happens just consider it a little bit of seasoning. :)
If I had a couple of lifetimes to spare, I'd probably pursue a career in cryptozoology, but I'm afraid that it's just a side interest. I guess I've got a lot of those. I'll most likely end up in something to do with psychology, but it's surprising to see how well a person can live off of avocations alone.
