I tried to sign up to the site but apparently this username is blacklisted because a russian spammer used it lol. I used the contact form to see if they can un-list it but if they can't I guess I'll just use something else. Having other people all working towards writing sounds like a good motivator. I definitely need that. I lose steam so easily.

Guilty. This story has been in my head since 2014 and is really persistent. It doesn't want to go away like all my other stories inevitably do.

@ briza.

You don't have to sign up to do NaNoWriMo! But it might be a little bit more difficult to keep in touch with virtual write ins and stuff.

The atmosphere of NaNoWriMo is fantastic for keeping oneself writing and enthusiastic.

All my stories inevitably want to be intertwined but sometimes the universes do not make a lick of sense in regards to each other. XD So you could say, I have one enormous story in my head I've got to untangle into something readable to a sane person.

I always felt like NanoWriMo being set in one of the busiest school work month is quite an unfortunate timing. But at the same time it adds to the challenge. So it has its own pros and cons.
I'm actually quite conflicted on what to do for this year. On one hand, I would really like to actually complete the cute romantic story featuring my two wlw characters (that I never finished for my original NanoWriMo). But on the other hand, I frequently get great story ideas while sleeping/dreaming, and I have several interesting idea that I would like to develop even further. So still weighing my options here.

I never really thought about the fact that it was set in a very unfortunate time of year for people that go to school. When I think back, that has a lot to do with why I never got around to participating.

I guess it would boil down to how badly you want the first one finished compared to how badly you want to write your fresher ideas. I'm quite familiar with that dilemma. I can only say that I always go for the fresher ideas and never finish anything to my liking as a result.

I think I'm kind of like you on how you say you go for the fresher idea and never finish anything. So that's why I think I'll finish my old idea first! I always starting on new things and leave the older pieces unfinished. While that worked great for drawing practices, I don't think that's a good habit to have for the most part. So I'll restart on my old idea and finish something big for once! Thank for your suggestion :D

It's been a week of Novel writing, and I'm already struggling. x__x
But I also learned so much more about my characters, and flushed out some of their backstories a lot more! I'm quite happy with what I have so far despite missing one day.

How's everyone else doing?

I'm not really participating this year, but my language arts teacher at school is making us write a novel, so in some ways I am participating.
