My father, when I was only 6 years old. He had a stroke while drunk, signed himself out of the hospital at about 11:30 pm, and later had a heart attack. I didn't stop crying till a week later. To this day it's hard for me to think about any happy memory without wishing my dad was there with me.

Its hard for me to remember what my grandma looked like currently before she died...

I have lost some good friends because of distance, moving away, moving on with life... Some people close to me, I have tried to keep friendships with but find it very difficult. And as i've grown older, and they've grown older, things have just...changed... It's not how it used to be. :( - and things will never go back to how they were.

I read this article the other day in the NYT that seems very relevant to this discussion thread. I found the writing quite powerful in the way the author describes dealing with her loss.

I lost a very close friend because of meddeling... people... who don't understand.. now I am just betrayed and many people here are treating me like I am in the wrong here... I just lost all hope...
