Skylar eyed the building, slowly looking upward at the plain white concrete, "It looks like the place." She carefully pushed open one of the doors, peering inside. Finding nothing suspicious, she opened it further, walking inside, "It looks safe...for an abandoned building at least." The only sign of human activity appeared to be graffiti covering the walls, which she ignored, knowing most abandoned things, not just buildings, had them.

Pax followed Skylar inside, eyeing the inside of the building. Pax would feel a bit weird, like this was a different building then a normal one. "Do you think this place feels a bit...off to you?" Pax would say, looking at the normal interior.

Now that Pax had mentioned it, it was strange. The building was abandoned, sure, but it just didn't feel right. There was certainly signs of human activity, but nothing that would be commonplace in an abandoned building in the middle of the city. Most notably the lack of homeless people. This place was perfect for escaping the rain or other weather hazards, so Skylar expected to see discarded bottles or cans, bags and newspapers, but there wasn't any. Instead, there was an eerie emptiness, "Maybe that's why they included the idea of it being haunted in some way. It certainly feels that way."

Pax looked at Skylar, sighing a little. "I guess so, it feels empty, but yet full at the same time." Pax said this like he knew that there was something in it before, but now it's gone.

Skylar began to examine the one thing she could, the graffiti. If anything, they could explain why it could feel this way. Maybe there was a mass gang arrest or shooting or something else that could make this place seem like it was being avoided. What she did find, however, made this place seem more like a place for insane people or a cult or something, "Pax, come check this out."

Skylar began to read some of what she saw aloud, attempting to make out some of the overlapping words, and some almost illegible writing,

"Earth 87 is extinct"

"On Earth 274, the Cold War heated up for the worse."

"Earth 43 is completely submerged"

"Contamination has spread on Earth 180"

"Which is Earth 1?"

"Which is the Core Earth?"

Pax would listen to the Words, then walk over to her, looking at the graffiti. "It looks like rambling...but doesn't earth 43 sound like our world?" Pax would say, thinking a bit. "It would be crazy to think there are different earth's...but how could they access such technology?" Pax would silently ponder on it, then looked down at Skylar. "Wait...strange disappearances...could this building take people to different timelines or even dimensions?"

( Just to say, he's wrong on purpose, this is to show he doesn't have perfect knowledge. )

"I don't know, Pax. It could just be the work of some weird cult trying to get people to be paranoid with a sick joke, then kidnap them while they're thinking about it," Skylar continued reading a few more, but during the task, fire alarms began to blare, the red tinted lights above some exits beginning to flash, "Aren't these buildings supposed to have a lack of power?!" she shouted, covering her ears while searching for a way out, only to discover the doors were now locked. What were they supposed to do now?

(Current time: 5:00 PM. This will be the time the building jumps every day. However, I'd like for our characters not to know this right off the bat. I don't think a normal person could make that connection the first time it happened.)

Pax would run to the door, pushing on it all he could. "Stupid Door...It's locked." He'd yell, before running back to the middle, feeling the building begin to shake. "Get to the middle!" He'd yell to her, trying to keep balance.

Skylar quickly dashed to Pax, almost falling as she did so. She stumbled close to him, grabbing his arm for support. It was a few more seconds before the shaking stopped, and just a couple more before the sirens and lights followed. It was soon silent again, but even Skylar could see that something drastic had just happened, and the fact that it seemed brighter in the building than it did before only made the feeling worse.

Pax would move his arm around her back, trying to support until the shaking stopped. He'd let go and walk to the door, and opening it. Seeing it was bright, he shielded his eyes. "Ugh, that's really bright. We are somewhere else now..."
